Also the wiring needs redone, all the interior sheetrock needs replaced, and the footing of the house needs completely redone.
Not much of the house is left.
I do think the house will be "fine" for a few years more at least. Had some foundation work done to it a year ago. Still sagging in the middle of the house, but not nearly as badly as it was.

I already told him I would be either quitting or dropping down to part time "next year sometime". In general he doesn't care, and is fine with me using his equipment to make literally anything.
As for the house, the siding needs to be replaced, the foundation still needs a ton of work, the roof needs at least some work, all the windows need replacing, septic lines need redone...
I replaced the plumbing because it was necessary for functioning water. Roof does not leak, yet.

I've been considering a lot of things, including but not limited to:
building fully-automated soap making equipment, push house over for new house, sell house for a different place, get CNC machine for my own small machine shop...
Paying off the house will happen either right before mare fair or right after. Been thinking about what comes after and I can't decide.

tungsten is required for every facet of living. It is used for literally all modern tooling for lathes, mills, EDM machines, forming dies, and many other things. With a high price of tungsten, which machine shops are feeling the pressure already, then every single manufactured thing gets explosively expensive.

yeah, I wouldn't take electric cars any further than 50 miles from town or home. They are designed for large city use, which honestly is a really good use-case, but not for me.
I have seen that tesla cars at least get really good battery life span, keeping 70-80% of its charge capacity for longer than the rest of the car can last... as long as the battery isn't punctured.

Basically there are two things done to bread that make it really unhealthy for consumption, one of them is seed oils.
The other is more a result of monolithic crops. Wheat can't be harvested until the stalk dies and the grain is exposed. To streamline the process farmers will spray the wheat crops with both insecticides while its growing and kill the stalk with herbicides. A small amount of both end up in the grain and do weird things to the body when consumed (more cancer).

I personally did a deep dive into oils from a technical standpoint for soap making. An oil when made into soap is bad when the soap turns yellow. Still mostly fine as soap but soap does not extend the lifetime of the oil its made of. At first all my soap was changing yellow very shortly after making it. Turns out grocery stores are a terrible place to buy most oils, including olive oil.
tl;dr high saturated fat oils and castor oil are peak for cooking with.

just make sure you use the correct terms. All (consumable) oils are fatty acids, including butter, tallow, canola oil, peanut oil, olive oil, and hundreds of others.
Almost all oils that are liquid at room temp will degrade rather quickly and basically turn into liquid plastic that induces cancer and other issues. One of the few exceptions is castor oil. There are two chemicals measured in oil to know if its degrading, one of them is hydrogen peroxide.

a friend had a single shot .223 pistol with, I think it was a 12" barrel or so. Breakbarrel action. Kind of an odd gun, but holy crap that thing kicked. Much more recoil than any other handcanon I've ever fired, including but not limited to .44mag and .454 casull.

a couple of the more recent examples is bed bath and beyond. There was another more recent one I read about but forgot which. Carmax dropped 20% stock value over night a few days ago because nobody is buying cars. Pretty sure the entire car selling model will go out the window and forceably switch to by-order only. Maybe not now, or soon, but sometime. The only way that changes is if the government stops yearly taxing on inventory.

well, as a machinist, I see what is being built because I make equipment for everyone.
Right now there is no slow machine shops, with many more popping up out of nowhere. I have a couple friends that I am helping them get started with some very fancy expensive manufacturing equipment.
There is a chip manufacturing facility I sometimes make replacement parts for, X-Fab, who makes computer systems for cars and other things.

W3c has always been shit. When I started getting into website development it was netscape navigator days and even back then it was shit. Different companies had different bolt-on crap like java applets, active-X, and flash and others. I saw where it was headed and decided to not pursue a career on the webfront.
back-end programming is even worse to an extent, because all that slop has to be generated, and need a new website for 3-4 different categories of devices.
