Agreed. It serves the egos of the people presenting mindless drivel and then it also placates the people who don’t want to think for themselves. I was at BTC Prague in June 2025 to meet some people, I traveled for it, I was there to see Saylor present like a rockstar and tell everyone to start a treasury company…

I’ve not really followed Luke so hard to comment, but hard fork after failed attempt at a soft fork seems like the natural progression. For the record I was hoping BIP110 would activate. I’m having a very hard time understanding why everyone is celebrating what fundamentally amounts to condoning Cores egregious behaviour…

It did seem odd to me to be attacking a mining pool for excessive hash rate so early on. Surely there are better ways to go about dealing with such a situation. The latter points raised are concerning if true, curious as to whether @nprofile…pge9 will respond to this video?

While I appreciate the response, I don’t want to turn this into a marathon text-based tennis match, so honing in on the critique of my analogy - the point I’m trying to make is I don’t want graffiti period. If we wait for fees to get sufficiently high to price that stuff out, we might not get there…
I am equally bemused by this “episode”, just for a different reason. I don’t understand why everyone doesn’t simply agree we should do whatever we practically can to make spam as difficult as possible.
Also don’t underestimate just how retarded the degenerate is. If fees go up and it costs them more, they are likely to think that makes it more valuable. In the wise words of Osho:

I watched this, Jimmy is great. I see this as being about principles, what is Bitcoin, and what is it not? I want it to be the purest money possible. I don’t want it to be a “wall” in cyberspace covered in digital graffiti (that you can’t scrub clean!). No doubt you will say you agree, but then you dismiss this matter as being a “weird obsession”. I’m sure it has nothing to do with your Blockstream sponsorship :)
I also don’t buy the “fees will solve it” argument. That’s like saying fines & penalties stop real world graffiti…

2026-02-07 21:30:39 GMT

I just want to state that I’m with @nprofile…vyzu and @nprofile…a4qe on this “culture” war and think people like @nprofile…525g who have taken a weak position on this matter are hollow and shouldn’t be given attention

Yeah I get it now, just now how I was thinking about it. The most compelling thing to me on this whole “debate” is the horizon level when you’re looking out window of plane on a clear day. That is hard to argue in my view and one of the few easily verifiable data points.
