Do you use the Reticulum network?
If so what have you learned you'd like to transmit to newcomers?
To me it feels like re-learning networking on completely different bases. It almost feels like the opposite of TCP/IP based networks somehow...
To anyone curious i'd strongly recommend reading https://reticulum.network/manual/zen.html

#AskingForAFriend

i think this is what broke Megapixels in postmarketOS edge recently (like 1-2months ago)...
a flatpak (taking 2-3GB to install, good luck on a 32GB disk that you daily-drive from!) is frozen on an older version and still works...
not a very satisfying solution though... #linuxphone

Yeah, nah.. let's not waste time with software/hardware/people freedom, as history showed us it wasn't so important anyways!
What matters isn't that a giant company controls your bootsector, or that hardware critical for communications depends solely on massive proprietary blobs, or that the entire architecture of hardware is designed for control (by aforementioned corporate parties)..
What matters is err.. numbers! and that we're having *FUN*!

Also the bet i made 5y ago is won: how disappointing it seemed at first, it is the power of the communities, the cleverness of the free/libre software developpers and users, and the personal work on tweaking and tinkering that made it over time get way better: more performance, adequation to my own needs, battery life even!
I composed an environment based on the free/libre modem "distro" https://github.com/the-modem-distro/pinephone_modem_sdk, #postmarketOS edge, #sxmo and mostly TUI tools: #tut #aerc #gomuks #links -g

If you are looking for modern performance and convenience, run away. This is equiv. to a 8-10yo "smartphone" 🐌
If you value free/libre computing more than everything, if you are willing to tinker, if you don't mind the occasional loss of a phone call or SMS, or breaking update (i run pmOS edge!), then this thing is made for you! 🔥
to me, reposessing my computing freedom, tailoring scripts and settings to my own needs, backing them up through rsync is worth all hurdles. 💓 #pinephone

Sometimes i believed in the legend of "convergence": one device to rule them all and forever bind them.
Since i use a #pinephone and reposessed a personal computing environment that is frugal and tailored to my needs, i am completely re-considering.
Got myself a "modern" device to run #Rockbox on (https://www.rockbox.org/). and OH MY! 1/ how much it progressed since the last 15y i didnt use it! 2/ how amazing to have dedicated, reliable top-notch audio sw+hw!
Sometimes i leave "phone" at home.

MUST-READ international investigation by Y. Philippin, J. Goetz and many more. It reveals how the biggest consortium of investigative journalism (#OCCRP) is mostly controled -covertly- by the US to serve its interest: to attack its opponents and leave US interests alone.
By hiding those links to its own journalists, OCCRP exposed some of them to risks of emprisonment and even death.
The appartus of "soft-power" influence of the empire, through deceit and lies, caught pants down!

#OCCRP
