There’s one node that is dead in the path, right after ACINQ, I excluded it manually and it seems to work now without any issues. There are some talking about this on GitHub, so I’m not gonna bother duplicating the issue there.

The Kantian Categorical Imperative is perhaps the most ambitious and elegant attempt to axiomatize morality from pure practical reason.
Its famous formulations capture an impressive amount of moral structure:
- Universal Law: act only on a maxim you could rationally will as a universal law.
- Humanity: treat humanity, in yourself and others, always as an end and never merely as a means.
- Kingdom of Ends: act as though you were legislating principles for a community of rational equals.

Your logical leap is wrong: “cunt,” as used here, is an assessment of character through iterations. Building FOSS software does not provide a license to be a jerk. It’s not, “You need to make time for me; if not, you’re a cunt.” It’s more like, “I see what you reveal about yourself through repeated interactions, and I draw the conclusion that you’re a cunt.”
As the line often attributed to Socrates goes: “Speak, so that I may see you.”

Whenever you hear the phrase "diversify your risk", you gotta know that it means to just sit pat. For money is made by concentrated bets, sitting pat just means that you are waiting for the setup. The people saying that would be better off by just saying "buy treasuries and sit with that risk free rate".

You can’t ignore real-world purchasing power when talking about proof-of-work security. What makes a 51% attack economically prohibitive is the real-world cost of acquiring and operating enough hashpower to control the chain. Fiat price isn’t everything, but pretending it’s irrelevant misses an important part of the security model.

The United States possessed an unusual nation-building advantage because American identity was capable of functioning as an ethnogenic identity: rather than requiring descent from a single historic ethnicity, the state could continually absorb heterogeneous populations and transform them, over generations, into a new national people. This gave the United States exceptional demographic, economic, and geopolitical capacity for expansion.

Monero's tail emission provides a permanent floor to miner revenue in #XMR terms, while its inflation rate continuously declines. If demand and price rise, the real security budget can grow even as the monetary cost of tail emission becomes progressively smaller relative to the network.
Fiat is what others charge for shit we need. Good luck changing that. Convert the shit out of the entirety of the supply chain involved in the securing of the network.

The 6.6× claim is manufactured by dividing transaction counts by an arbitrary $1B slice of market cap, a valuation metric that has no linear relationship to network usage, while the transaction and market-cap figures shown don’t even reproduce the advertised ratios from a clearly defined common snapshot.
Besides, transaction batching and lightning payments are convenienly ignored. This does not does not even merit a response but I had a fee free minutes. While I think highly of monero as a freedom tech, cheap shots like this only makes monero bros look desperate and does not do any good to the monero network.

Monero does not have a better SoV proposition, it lacks in the most fundamental aspect: security budget. There were instances of reorgs done by pools of mediocre size. This alone means it is not a serious wealth storage/transfer vehicle. When monero becomes much bigger, it will face the same boss as everything else that grew too big to be dismissed: deep pockets and infinite fiat.

2026-09-08 12:24:38 GMT

Complexity is the attribute of monero, not bitcoin. Basement farms doing reorgs at a whim, inflation bugs that can't be traced and so forth... No worries, we bash bitcoin at the expense of monero while hoping it sounds cool. Monero is a good project but the monero anime lovers have always been attacking bitcoin cause bitcoin chose supply-auditability over default privacy. These things are mutually exclusive. Just take the tradeoff you are willing to tolerate and shut the fuck up.

Statism systematically creates opportunities and incentives for parasitism. Unless state actors and their beneficiaries are subjected to strong external constraints — competition, fiscal discipline, performance criteria, rule of law, political accountability — rent-seeking tends to accumulate and the state increasingly becomes an institution for distributing and protecting rents rather than producing public value.
