Personal notes is my fav Mastodon feature. You can label me as an idiot, or as a nice person, or as a gamer, or as a monster, or as helpful… The “note” field can take it all in and it does not judge.

@nprofile…5lhv there is more I didn’t say, that’s why. One of the things I would like is to be able to purchase a CD/DVD/BR box of some of my fav games. Most indie devs cannot afford this process, but GOG could offer a print+package option for every game they sell in some kind of preorder/queue method. Do you think I am expecting too much?

2026-06-30 07:58:18 GMT

I would like to see games being sold by game developers again, without the need for any type of a "store" launcher. Though, GOGcom is pretty close to what I am thinking about.

@nprofile…h9j8 why would it be a game over? It’s just a nice looking tiny PC and I want one :)
I have never purchased a prebuilt PC before, Steam Machine COULD be my first prebuilt PC.
But I tend to cool off and build my own anyway. It’s just that I can’t build one so small.

2026-06-25 19:59:10 GMT

I want #SteamMachine without RAM and without SSD. I already have an SSD lying around and I am sure I can get a cheaper Chinese RAM on Aliexpress.

2026-06-23 18:25:40 GMT

Anyone from Germany can you please show me a screenshot of the #SteamMachine price on the Steam Store? Thanks.

I have been testing @nprofile…mvm4 and the thing that bothers me the most is the absence of bloat. I am so used to Github bloat all over the interface that I have a feeling that Forgejo is broken. But every button that I ACTUALLY need is there. Nothing is trully missing. It's just not bloated enough. :memewhere:

But yes, Claude is involved.
Now that we got that sorted out please tell me, as a blog reader, how much does it bother you knowing that I am not a native English speaker and that I have decided to swap LibreOffice dictionary for something like Claude? I need to understand this from your perspective so I can adjust.

I have been an early adopter for most of my life. New platforms, new tools, new ways of being online — I was usually there before most people had heard of them. I do not regret any of it. The experience was real and some of it was genuinely good.

@nprofile…7qdu what I was trying to say is when something is optional - it means that no special care is invested. Everything is about "Arch wiki" on this OS.

2026-04-12 07:27:37 GMT

After using #OpenBSD for a while I got used to finding ALL answers in MAN pages. #Linux has them since forever, but man pages on OpenBSD are on another level.
So yesterday I installed Arch Linux to remind myself on overall feel of that OS and I noticed that it doesn't have man command (archinstall with a desktop preset).
I am aware that everything is optional on Arch Linux, but having man pages optional feels rather weird after using OpenBSD.

@nprofile…65q8 the perceived power is completely in our hands. We the people (users) have absolute control of who gets the power by the means of democracy. I see no reason why one would choose to use a proprietary operating system. Be it from any American tech giant. Proprietary means you choose to follow their rules. You chose to give up on your software freedom.
I have done my part. Now it's time for everyone else to stop using propriety operating systems and to contribute to libre ones.
