Oh hello. Only me, popping in to share some stitching, some cat pics and talk of F1. I spend way too much time on my own or in the company of a teenager (my child, not a random teenager, he is referred to as the child or the spawn ). So this place is my connection to the grown ups, if there is any such thing. #CrossStitch #Cats #Formula1 #Books #Theatre #Disabled #Fibromyalgia #ADHD #Autism Profile pic is me with my grey hair covering my face. Last Notes npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Good morning lovely ones. The weather is a bit ick again right at this moment, although glancing over to the window, the early morning light is making everything glow in a magical way. I'm back to drinking instant coffee until I get more coffee filters. That huge order of coffee from Grind has me spoiled. Plus side though, I have some amazing lemon drizzle cake for breakfast, shush now, it has lemon in it, its healthy π Todays plans involve moving just enough that people know I'm not dead, trying to get my knees to crunch because they are agony right now, and probably some gaming. Have a lovely day everyone π https://media.beige.party/media_attachments/files/116/390/088/667/140/775/original/3d580e0ea4a6c102.png npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi I love this quote, I think we all need it just now. I'm on the 5th coffee for this morning π¬ I would love to say I'm full of energy, but I could happily sleep π I hope you are doing okay. npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Thanks Caity, I'm getting a bit fed up of the windy weather now, it feels like its been constant for months now. How are you doing? npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Good morning lovely ones. Storm Chandra kicks in across the UK. As always, its not meant to be too bad where I am. The wind has been howling since before I went to bed last night, the rain is coming and going. Everything is creaking. Looks like its another day of hunkering down and keeping cosy. Another day of finding those little bits of magic in the day, noticing the little things and trying to keep my peace. I'm sure another coffee is one of those bits of magic. Be safe, take care and find the magic today folks. π https://media.beige.party/media_attachments/files/115/965/650/108/641/827/original/541667cda71cd696.png npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Good morning lovely ones and welcome to Saturday. I am wiped out already, but the steroid injection is having some effect already, I can move my arm out to the side with ease this morning, still can't quite get the arm above my head. At least my shoulder didn't wake me during the night for a change, woohoo! I shall soon test the shoulder and get on with some stitching, I'm excited to see how that goes. Have a fab day folks, be safe in whatever you do today! https://media.beige.party/media_attachments/files/115/948/498/487/653/290/original/f0771d11dbf67d9e.png npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi The one I had in my hip done absolutely nothing and ended up making the pain worse. I've had the shoulder one before and it was absolute magic, within 24 hours I had a full range of movement back and could exercise it again. npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Thank you, I'm really hoping to get some proper movement in the arm, it will make a huge difference for me, and hopefully make stitching a lot more comfortable. npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Good morning everyone. Friday, woo, more importantly its steroid injection day. Unfortunately, I do not want to go because of the stupid weather. The wind has not let up all night, the rain comes in heavy waves. There are still roadworks messing up the buses which means I will need to leave far too early instead of the bus I planned to take. It is not going to be a fun day. I will reward myself later with tasty treats. Plus side though, I woke up to messages from a friend who is on holiday in Vietnam, the pictures are lovely, so that is a good way to start the day. Meds have kicked in, second coffee is on the go. Soon be time to throw myself in the shower and then wait for daylight to go clean up the garden, pretty sure the bins have been flying and there is plastic chaos to clean up. Have a lovely day folks. https://media.beige.party/media_attachments/files/115/943/034/757/086/724/original/04c5d2914e8ea925.png npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Good morning everyone. Friday, meh. I hope you find some magic in your day. That is it, that is all I have folks, no meme, pictures or tales of my plans. Have a good one. npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Good morning folks. Thank you for all the love on my self pity, whinging post last night. I went to bed as soon as I hit send, was sound asleep by 7pm. I asked the child to close my room door once both cats were in the living room, which he did. I woke at 3.50am, and managed to snooze again until 5. So how am I feeling this morning? The pain in my wrist has settle down, my shoulder is screaming at me (roll on steroid injection next week), my hips are more painful than ever, I feel like I have a brutal cold (that will clear in a few hours), the dizzy from yesterday seems to have fucked off (its still early though). I don't need a doctor to check me over after the fall, I have enough experience to know that nothing is badly injured. I do want to get out for some fresh air, but I also know that it would be a really stupid idea to go out. Hopefully I will be feeling a lot better by Friday since I have a cinema ticket booked. Onwards to my usual day, coffee, meds, stitching and generally being cosy in my bubble. Sorry for the list of grumbling complaints in this toot. The joys of life with a chronic illness, sometimes it is all I have to talk about. Have a lovely day everyone and be careful going down stairs! π https://media.beige.party/media_attachments/files/115/891/793/468/171/776/original/1bc7b6100026d408.png npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi I am definitely not built for your weather, I start melting and getting seriously stressed when the temp gets near 20c π¬I am very lucky that where I am in Scotland, our weather is generally fairly reasonable, yeah we get the cold temps and the rain, but its not usually extreme. I'm glad the fires are a long way from you, its bloody awful. Fingers crossed for some cooler, settled days. npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Morning Caity, the other humans in the village are waking now, I keep hearing cars crunching along the road. I've seen on the news about the wildfires and heatwave, I hope you are safe and have some way to find some relief from the heat. npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Good morning folks. I had a fairly decent sleep in my lovely clean bed with all the pillows. blankets and cats. Fed the cats, coffee, meds. Stared out the window looking at the pathetic amount of snow we had, found peace in the quiet of the morning, not many people are about at 5am. I've not been out since Saturday, normally I would be going stir crazy by now, but no. I'm happy just to sit in my bubble, finding the good things in my little world, cherishing my hot drinks, my stitching, the company of the cats and the child. My To Do List gets longer, but it can wait, my calmness is my priority. So its onwards to the kitchen I go, more coffee and then lets get the stitching set up for the day. I hope you all have the day you need π https://media.beige.party/media_attachments/files/115/863/598/565/860/673/original/29520a6f612f7baf.png npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Good to see you pop up and yay to Rosie, she is gorgeous. Hurrah for having good plans for March! π npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi I hope the journey home is uneventful. I have just done the shower and getting dressed thing, I do not feel any better, this does not bode well for the day. npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Morning folks. Its mild, wet and windy here this morning. I'm supposed to be going to Glasgow today, there is a very good chance that won't be happening with how I am feeling right now. Will see if I feel any better once showered. I will likely decide 10 minutes before I need to leave the house. Normally I would rage at missing the theatre, but its a show I have seen before, so honestly, I just don't care right now. Shows how awful I feel when I am saying that! Onwards to coffee and praying meds kick in quick so I can shower and then make decisions. Have a lovely day everyone π https://media.beige.party/media_attachments/files/115/620/084/246/419/810/original/aac130928d36978a.png npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Today I finally made it to the "Thread Memory, Embroidery from Palestine" display at the V & A Dundee. These are a few of the garments on display. It was rather emotional walking around the exhibition, reading the stories, seeing an outfit that had been on display in a Palestinian museum until Israel decided to bomb it and destroy most of the things displayed there (I did not take a photo of that item, it felt wrong to do so, but perhaps I should return and take a photo of it). I love the idea of stitching an intentional imperfection into the design to ward off the evil eye, I have seen other cultures mention similar within their stitching. The following text is taken from the V & A website about the exhibition. "Explore the history of Palestinian dress and the ancient practice of elaborate hand-embroidery. Tatreez is an ancient practice of elaborate hand-embroidery, and each region of Palestine has its own distinct and identifiable style making embroidery a language as much as a craft. For centuries, a Palestinian womanβs dress β its cut, colour, textiles, stitches and motifs β reflected her life story. Written into garments are the signs of youth or grief, the marks of motherhood and rural life, as well as the traces of social, political and economic change in Palestine, from the late nineteenth century to the present. 2025 marks 45 years of Dundeeβs twin city relationship with Nablus, Palestine and this exhibition takes the opportunity to spotlight Nabulsi dress and tell the story of the historic connection between Scotland and Palestine, through material from Dundee collections and Palestinian archives. Thread Memory also features contemporary embroidered dress, including newly commissioned looks from Palestinian fashion designers building upon inherited cultural traditions. Work by contemporary artists engaging with tatreez will sit next to the traditional dress on display, alongside interviews with Palestinian embroiderers. Thread Memory: Embroidery from Palestine is made in partnership with Art Jameel, the Palestinian Museum, V&A South Kensington and V&A Dundee. It is based on an exhibition of the same title that was exhibited at Hayy Jameel in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia from January to April 2025." The display is on at V & A Dundee until Spring 2026, it is free to visit and is well worth it. The Scottish Design gallery is worth a wander round. I didn't go to the paid exhibition because it doesn't hugely interest me. (Heather Street Food truck is just next door and does amazing doughnuts, also worth visiting." #Embroidery #Tatreez #Stitching #Palestine #Museum #Dundee https://media.beige.party/media_attachments/files/115/527/202/634/966/189/original/0650c6a4b6dee899.png https://media.beige.party/media_attachments/files/115/527/203/475/565/570/original/522de76b91f002b8.png https://media.beige.party/media_attachments/files/115/527/204/377/992/468/original/d2eebe30e3c54616.png https://media.beige.party/media_attachments/files/115/527/206/253/645/325/original/b60d60d6bd32d298.png npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Good morning lovely people. I am exhausted, hoping for a better day than yesterday. Not much to say this morning because everything hurts and yeah. Have a lovely day everyone. npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi "I'm going to rest and play games today". Takes rubbish out. Hoovers. Mops floors. Orders bookcase (arrives Wednesday when the road to the village is open again). Sorts books from heater so I can put the heating on. Cleans litter trays. Cleans bathroom. Makes soup. Have played a bit of Powerwash Sim 2 though, so that's okay. npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi The craft show haul. I have loved House of Zandra felt animal kits for years, new designs make me happy, its just a shame they don't do full kits anymore. The Wild Scotland kits are from an amazing company called Vivid Stash. I love this one woman company, the owner is fabulous, it was great to finally meet her. The Sashiko kits were bought from Susan Briscoe Designs. She has an online shop, but more worryingly, she has just opened a physical shop and its not far from me. This could get dangerous. Overall, the craft show was not as good as previous years, it felt a lot smaller. I think I prefer the one in Spring which also includes the Scottish Quilting Show. I still had a fun day and am very happy with my new things. Which I am going to ignore all day because Powerwash Simulator 2 is out and I must play it. Plus, I don't have the capacity to concentrate on stitchy things. #Crafts #Stitching #Embroidery #CrossStitch https://media.beige.party/media_attachments/files/115/427/478/256/287/587/original/194414b4d69f34f4.png https://media.beige.party/media_attachments/files/115/427/479/043/179/658/original/d3b8e5567bf5689b.png https://media.beige.party/media_attachments/files/115/427/479/796/835/578/original/936db84511efb37e.png https://media.beige.party/media_attachments/files/115/427/480/488/220/295/original/2787922a3db5b193.png npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Good morning beautiful people. Today is my "big housework" day, or it should be, but I'm tired and need to rest for this weeks adventures, so therefore I will stitch instead π I hope you all have a lovely day, may the coffee be strong, good luck out there. https://media.beige.party/media_attachments/files/115/404/594/828/845/927/original/04551af2ae65290f.png npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi I know, it means late nights for me, shouldn't complain though since most races are at decent times for me. Really hoping Oscar has a good weekend, he has been absolutely shafted lately. npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Oh no, I hope you are able to at least relax a bit. npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Bought because it was cheap, it amused me and I wanted to see the real cats reaction to it, they are unimpressed. #Caturday https://media.beige.party/media_attachments/files/115/393/865/717/797/818/original/ec440b773dd22e59.png npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi I think people might need to poke me with a sharp stick now and then today, just to check π How are you doing? npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Morning lovely people. Went to bed at 11.30pm, had to get up at 3.30am to release skinny cat since he was kicking up merry hell and trying to remove the carpet from outside my bedroom door, woke up again at 4.10am and thought I'd try for ten more minutes, then woke at 6.35am. Oops. I am still shattered, and everything hurts. Today I will be existing, probably napping and not much else. My body is seriously inflamed this morning, halfway through my first coffee and I don't think its a good idea, so looks like today is a day for tea. Damn, I've got my grumpy pants on this morning, everyone should just be grateful I have any on at all π ha, I can still find some humour, not dead yet then π Have a lovely day everyone! https://media.beige.party/media_attachments/files/115/393/627/460/238/895/original/b7f11e535ead65a1.png npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Good morning lovely people. I managed to sleep until 3.30am, that is an improvement. So today I will definitely think about doing the things. I promise I'll try not to be a grumpy arse today π Have the day you need folks π https://media.beige.party/media_attachments/files/115/381/855/868/801/594/original/dc3f16be49e39418.png npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Hey Caity, are your temps rising now? I'm sitting here with the window open next to my desk, its still dark and the cool air coming in is bliss. npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Morning folks, this is a much more reasonable time to be up, instead of that 2am bs of yesterday. Today I will be dying quietly or doing chores, something like that, its still coffee time, brain not awake yet π Have a lovely day everyone! https://media.beige.party/media_attachments/files/115/359/321/892/603/163/original/a858dbd48b038f8c.png npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Huh, so remember a few weeks a go when the child hurt his foot. He now has absolutely mega bruising, ouch! npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi I absolutely do. How are you doing? npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi I'm on a roll this morning. Sorted out some emails. Paid a bill. Just about to do my MRI checklist for tomorrow morning. No wonder I'm suddenly hungry, doing that much this early needs fuel π Please can I get my "adulting" sticker now? π npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Morning lovely ones. Its a very late start for me today, I was up at 2.30am in excruciating pain. So a cup of tea, tens machine and painkillers were utilised, then I went back to bed. Only just up again, feck knows for how long though, hopefully long enough to eat something at least! have a lovely day everyone π npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Good morning lovely ones. We made it to Friday, hurrah! I might do things today, or I might not, its still "coffee and wait for the meds to kick in" time. Have a fabulous Friday folks π https://media.beige.party/media_attachments/files/115/268/637/249/145/173/original/9b3dcfde789e0f88.png npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Finally making a phone call that was supposed to be done last week. Then I planned to do it yesterday but silly adventures to hospital prevented that. Now, I have a third coffee while I listen to the most horrendous quality hold music. I don't know what is worse, the hold music or the roadworks outside. npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Good morning lovely people. Well that was a night. The child has done *something* to his foot, so we were up until 12.30 on the phone to NHS out of hours. I'm expected to carry him out of the house today to get him to the minor illness clinic in St Andrews. So once I have had coffee, I need to go and look at his foot, see if he can put weight on it and then figure out what the hell we are doing. I'm absolutely shattered since being up so late knocked my sleep routine. I wish you all a stress free Monday, I'll be stressing enough for all of us π npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi I would dearly love for it to become a regular thing, robins are special little birds. npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Two mornings in a row now, when I have been looking out of the window, a robin has flown over to sit on the window ledge. What a precious little moment that was. npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Oh dear, lost internet, how sad, shame.......did that sound sincere? I opened the news this morning while having first coffee and just thought "I can't", so I closed it and have been bimbling about ever since. npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Good morning lovely people. Another day, another urgh. Coffee and straight into stitching for me today. I cannot cope with seeing the constant onslaught of news (I know, filters, mutes etc). We are not designed to absorb all the bad things all the time. So today I am going to drift along in a stitchy bubble until its time for shopping to be delivered. Coffee and meds first obviously. Have a good one folks. https://media.beige.party/media_attachments/files/115/217/602/862/315/752/original/d7628fc01667b898.png npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Penguin advent SAL ordered and handily found out that Lakeside Needlecraft are doing kits for it, so I have ordered that as well, saves me the hassle of trying to find a fabric that will work with the pattern. I know I go on about stitching a lot, and most of you know the reasons why. Here is an example of what stitching means to me. More and more my health is kicking my ass, I don't even have my 4 good hours in the morning anymore, I'm lucky if I get 1 good hour. Yesterday, I picked up stitching early, just a small piece, I worked on that, done some reading, shared some stuff about it. I felt calm, distracted from the health stuff for a while. I felt.....good. Once I stopped stitching, I noticed the pain, the fatigue, my brain got busy again, all the things swamped me again. I don't get this calm feeling with anything else. This is why I stitch, this is why I talk about stitching so much, this is why I skip meals so I can afford the stitchy things. Never underestimate the power of crafts. Wow, its early for me to be rambling like this π npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Good morning lovely ones. This having to get up and feed the cats every morning is unreasonable, its about time they figured it out and stopped being cute, furry freeloaders. I might just be grumpy because I was cosy and comfy in bed. Now I am sore and need more coffee. Onwards, to the good things and then I might just have enough coffee in me to face the day. I do need to venture into the real world today, I will miss my pyjamas when I leave them π Have a good one folks π https://media.beige.party/media_attachments/files/115/212/094/738/151/295/original/d0f5dd868c08fd7e.png npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Good morning lovely people. It is possibly raining a little. I think its time to see if I can manage a walk around the village. It is approximately 1 mile. My hip and leg still hurt from the mad 3 hour spasm it had yesterday. Maybe some exercise will help. Comfy shoes are on, two walking sticks to hand. Lets go. #Morning #Motivation #Exercise #Dawn npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Good morning lovely ones. All these years of being alive, all these years of managing chronic illness, you would think I would learn not to do too much. Yesterday turned into a nap day, which meant lying in bed listening to everything outside and not actually sleeping, crap sleep last night too. So this morning, I am just a bouncing bundle of joy that can't wait to overdo it again, just as soon as I have had enough coffee and 12 hours of rest π I have no emergency soup left in the freezer, booooo. I only have 1 cheese scone left, booooo. Looks like I might have to cook properly today, or eat toast instead. Ah well, shit happens. I am talking more nonsense than usual. Just so you know, I am absolutely fine (mentally, okay, maybe a little unhinged, but thats normal for me). I am making light of how I feel, because its what I do. I will do what I need to do, to get through the day. I know how to do this. Wow, I might actually be grumpy today. Also, do you realise how hard it is to type wow like that, when you are used to typing WoW? Okay, I'm going now, this is talking too much. Maybe I need more coffee, or broken fingers so I can't type so much nonsense. Have a fab day everyone! https://media.beige.party/media_attachments/files/115/172/431/592/642/861/original/fe0872e97bb948de.png npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi I thought he just got a reprimand? Attempt number two at being awake, only up now because skinny cat was protesting at not being allowed in the bedroom. Meds taken, coffee nearby and a fat cat asleep on the desk. Urgh. Have a fab day everyone. npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Cleaned my glasses 3 times this morning, things still seem blurred. Maybe its my eyeballs that need cleaning π npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi A short walk and it was a lot cooler than in recent weeks, everything felt muted and peaceful. Unlike the bright summer mornings, I only met one dog while out walking. The sun peeking through the trees made me smile, until I walked a bit further and couldn't see anything π Hopefully with the start of Autumn, I will get walking more. #Photos #Morning #Walking #Scotland https://media.beige.party/media_attachments/files/115/133/217/821/966/549/original/04d4bb20554b5c64.png npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Got back from my walk to find the child sitting on the sofa. He is never normally through until 8 or 9am. npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Howdo, I am glad you got some rest, I hope that helps with the TN. I hope you get to Art Journaling soon. npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Flowers of Quaker by Karen Kluba/Rosewood Manor is finally finished. I am not happy with the style of the initial, it does not look like an F, so I might rework that another day. This pattern was a lot of fun to work on. I stitched it on Taupe 28ct evenweave (the fabric is darker than it appears in my terrible photos). It is stitched with Valdani threads, which come in delightful little balls of thread and for this pattern, you use all three strands of the thread. I love these threads and would stitch with them again. Now this pattern is folded and in the "to be ironed pile" of finished patterns, there might be around 2 or 3 years of projects sitting in that pile, one day I will be able to afford the frames and then get them on display in the house. Time to decide on the next pattern. @npub1aztβ¦ekps #CrossStitch https://media.beige.party/media_attachments/files/115/112/086/809/290/836/original/95c8f60d86dc71c5.png npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Just one more little flower to stitch on this part of the pattern, but I really need to get some food. That was a better sleep since it was a bit cooler, but it was a disturbed sleep - thanks cats π Fat cat does have a new morning routine though, he races through to jump on my desk so he can get a cuddle while I put the computer on and grab my glasses before I feed him, it is rather cute. Todays plans involve shopping, I've pretty much been living on bread for the past week. Obviously the first thing on the to do list today is lots of coffee, meds and perhaps some stitching. I hope today is good to you all π https://media.beige.party/media_attachments/files/115/030/729/277/215/524/original/b6429c96d33a90e9.png npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi I was watching a random video about another country. A few lines from that video hit me - "Here, there is no pressure to constantly achieve, just permission to exist. It's not about doing less, it's about living with more presence and peace" I can see the wisdom in that. npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Ever since mum died, I've woken up at the time the nurse woke me to tell me I had to see mum, she was about to die. Its shit, its been 9 years. Today would have been her birthday. Got up this morning as usual, leave my bedroom, glance along the hall to the living room, I could swear there was someone walking about the living room. My eyes playing tricks on me, or the old bat is still kicking around and not giving me peace. Who knows, but maybe just once, it would be nice if she would let me sleep. I need the rest and some peace. I'm alright, just sharing random thoughts. Time for breakfast. npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Me: I need to eat less cheese. How are you doing? npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Good morning lovely ones π My day is going to involve lots of coffee, the second last part of the floral hexagons SAL, F1 sprint race this morning and the qualifying for the main race this afternoon, and not much else. I mean, it should involve chores, but nah, my body is protesting to being upright (again), so a proper rest day for me. Om nom nom, tasty! https://media.beige.party/media_attachments/files/114/873/906/611/663/849/original/7450a188aabe607b.png npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Today has been weird as fuck. All the things have been pinging. 4 hours sleep, kinda my choice since I stayed up so late. Felt okay this morning, decided to head out (first time out the house since Friday). Got my coffee and croissant - oh boy, feeling good, glad I took the ibs meds (reason I haven't been taking them is another story). Popped into the shoe shop, you know when you have worn through the soles of shoes, its time to get new ones. Could not find ones I liked, was trying on a pair on the only free seats, in the young people section when I spotted something I liked.....ooft, Β£25 cheaper than in the adults section, go on then. Into the charity shop next door, shorts for the child, a couple of things for me. Dive to the next bargain store to find they have drastically changed the stock. Shit, its only 15 minutes until the bus. Dash to the nearest corner shop, pay a premium, get what I need (and a hug from the lovely man that works in the shop, and another from the local alcoholic male dancer - don't ask). Stress at the bus stop, THINGS HAVE HAPPENED HERE BEFORE, but for once it was uneventful.....but the bus was late. Jump on bus, phone call from the scottish benefits folks. Now, as a rule, I don't answer the phone on the bus, I don't hear properly at times, and I don't want to disturb people by talking on the phone. But no, pushed to revealing sensitive stuff on the phone, nearing my max stress levels. Argh. Agree to something just to end the damn call. Get to bridge over the river, its closed, but only heading into Fife. I see blue lights ahead. Oh shit. Now this bridge is closed often, for "police incidents", not to be insensitive, but otherwise known as people wanting to end their lives. But for some reason, my brain jumped straight to "shit, what if the bridge is collapsing". Not a normal thought for me, but its where my brain went today. Finally made it home, after getting over the bridge, hitting two lots of roadworks. In a panic if Scottish benefits folks would knock on the door before I was home, knowing the child would breakdown and panic. Get in the house, shouting and resisting the swearing, frazzled, stressed, done. Benefits guy appears, I think he realises I am done for the day (this is just before 2pm). Quick visit and he is gone. I play some WoW, at some point the child turns round and says "mum, are you laughing or crying?", at which point I just don't know. He puts the bin out for me. Comes back in, and I say, "mind that stroke like thing, I feel like that again". I see the fear in his face, but I can't respond. He helps me to the kitchen, I know I need food. Thank fuck for a ready meal (it was shite btw), but it helped me feel more human. A good few hours of pretty much doing nothing, just watching some shite and hopefully sending some love out into the world. Feeling lots of love and empathy for so many wonderful souls on here, hoping that maybe one day, we can all get the day we need, hoping that by sharing our experiences we can build something wonderful. Caring, love, kindness, hope, life. (over and out for tonight, I really need to sleep since most of my body is numb, be well my friends). npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi I spent most of yesterday in bed. Sitting upright made me feel like my spine was on fire while being crushed. That was fun. I did get up to watch the F1, oh my, that was a fine race. Barely any sleep despite being in bed so much over the weekend, but I have managed to fight off a cold that was threatening to take hold, and that cool shower I just had has helped my spine a lot. I suppose I should be active today, get the neglected chores done, see if the new varifocals work for stitching or if I will once again, be peering over the top of the specs. Onwards, to see what Monday has in store! Have a good one folks π npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Finally finished the stitching I had hoped to finish yesterday. Tomorrow I will start the latest instalment of the SAL. Stitching has helped today, just what I needed. #CrossStitch https://media.beige.party/media_attachments/files/114/761/406/781/585/991/original/38635701b6217582.png npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Next weeks orthopaedics appointment has been changed to the following week, good thing I didn't have my train ticket booked! npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Thank you for the understanding Caity. The nephew stuff was just too much. The Reynauds and migraine thing does make perfect sense. I did laugh when she asked me if I have high stress levels, doesn't everyone these days. I wanted to stitch this afternoon, but well, stupid tears keep falling, so I'm going to go to bed instead. npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Today has absolutely fucking broken me. Usual start to the day, too tired and sore. Fine, I'm used to it. Busy bus to town, it was alright since my mate was on the bus, so we had a good blether. Optician appointment was at 9, so obviously I was in 10 minutes early. Lovely person took me straight away to do the initial check, you know the hot air balloon and puffs or air thing. Back to the waiting area. The optician calls me through, introduces herself, goes over the whole medical history thing, she pipes up "do you have a hypermobility diagnosis?" "nope, physio thinks so, doctors won't even acknowledge that as an option", she replies with "I can't diagnose that, but with everything else going on, I would say its highly likely". Alrighty, wasn't expecting that at an eye test. Then she pipes up about the link between Reynauds and Migraines - news to me, but okay. So we go through the eye test, eventually. Huge change in my vision, she wants me to try varifocals again otherwise I will need 3 separate pairs of glasses. Fuck sake, bye bye Β£175 (half the money I have to live on a month, thats fine, I don't need to eat or pay bills). Then its the peripheral vision check, and apparently every customer needed that done on the large machine and not the usual small one today, so wait half an hour for that, sit down and wait to get the okay to go home, nope, have to repeat the right eye peripheral vision check. Finally leave the opticians at 11.10. Frantic dash to the nearest public toilets, then head to a corner shop before the bus, come out of there, bump into the nephew, realise I forgot something ask him to get it for me, but me being me, I get my words mixed up and he makes a big deal out of it and leaves me feeling stupid. So home and very fucking broken and done with everything. Oh yeah, and the optician things stitching could be the thing causing my migraines! FML. npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi That sounds like its been a damn good week, I hope you can relax and enjoy a restful weekend! npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi He definitely relates to a vampire, getting him outside is almost impossible! npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi He was in despair at it being light so early in the morning and then calling me a weirdo for keeping my curtains open at night so I wake with the sunrise π npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Huh, this morning is different from usual. Sitting quietly enjoying my first coffee of the day, having a look at the news - glutton for punishment and all that. The child appears, at HALF PAST FIVE! He is cursing the daylight since he was awake at 4.30. So we done our usual morning news/politics chat. I grabbed my second cuppa while he got water, then he sat down to chat again. Log into WoW to do my daily quests....get child to do them, so I went and got dressed and tidied up the kitchen. He is now away back to his room and I can do the stuff I want to do in game, hurrah! npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Morning lovely people. Yesterday was a weird day, felt awful. Guy came to change the metre, was here just before 9, hurrah - very little talk about the work he done, but we did talk about dodgy knees, getting old and my dodgy taste in music π I managed a trip to the shop, felt awful, but at least I have milk now. Got home, started stitching, ended up playing WoW instead. The child asked for a takeaway, yeah fine, meant I didn't need to cook, it was delivered by the owner, not seen him in about three years, it was good to see him. Today is a phone appointment at lunchtime, urgh and with any luck the usual chores. For now, its time to dip my head in a bucket of coffee π Have a fab day folks. https://media.beige.party/media_attachments/files/114/662/763/263/585/734/original/2960d967215e59ae.png npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Well, that was a wasted journey. They didn't have the floss, so I still need to order it online. But, I did get lemon sole for lunch (currently cooking) and a new book! npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Thank you, I am just wiped out at the moment and 2 new medications are upsetting my usual calm. npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Hey folks, I had to take time away from here, my body hasn't been playing ball. I did get the bloods done today, and a first for me, I fainted just after it. Still in the surgery, the phlebotomist was amazing (thankfully it was the one I like and not the "no people skills" person). My stupidly low blood pressure is now on record since it was 80/50, usually I have white coat syndrome. She did warn me though that the IBS meds can cause low BP, ffs. I absolutely broke down in the docs, I'm not ashamed to cry in front of people, but I hate feeling "out of control" and vulnerable in front of other people. Thank you so much to everyone that understood and connected with me last night, I really appreciated that and needed that sense of community. Living with chronic illness is a very lonely place to be. npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi This is a post that is definitely tmi. I was very open when I started HRT months ago. I was very open that I thought that it was wrong. My GP kept telling me I was wrong. 7 months from starting it, I had a "stroke like" episode. CT scan clear. Its all just the episode and a migraine. Since then I have hadd abour 10 migraines a day. 10 days of knowing somethings wrong bit being none the wiser. npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi An observation (combined with a rant) about the fediverse. (This is a toot from someone with multiple health problems, that is also very loud about their health/beliefs/thoughts). As a warning, I will say, do not come at me assuming my position on anything and do not tell me to try yoga). A few years ago, when everyone started leaving the hellsite, I asked someone what this place was like, the response was pretty much "they are all perfect people and will remind you of it every chance they get". I have experienced that, but have pushed it aside because - unlike the hellsite, people here generally do not make it a mission to make your life hell. In general, I find that to be true. I also find it to be true that I have "met" so many wonderful souls that I do connect with. People with chronic illness, people that stitch, people that read, people that are fun......just people. People that accept me for who I am. Now, I accept that I am a nightmare person. I have had a lot go on it life. I have a lot of physical health things and medical gaslighting going on. I get grumpy, of course I do, I'm only human (as are most of you, I assume). Today has seriously pissed me off though. This morning I shared a toot, as I do most mornings that mocks my health, folks that know me know my SOH. A comment from one person really fucked me off though. A summery of the comment would be "god gave us a brain, use it and learn about yourself", also telling me to think positive. Now, I don't know about anyone else in the chronic illness community, but for me....I never mentioned my illnesses until I had learnt about them. Like more people with a chronic illness, I have spent the past 20 something years researching my illness and looking at other things that could be a cause to suggest to my GP. I am so fucking angry with this one person tonight (probably another sign that I am a shite person since people are not allowed to have a bad day - insert eyeroll). Honestly, I love the majorrity of you folks, but seriously, think twice if you are telling someone to thiink positive. (a''; typ[os brought to you by the "nt a stroke but fcke if we no grp" (the above part was typed by me and not corrected by my child....I have needed his help since the "not a stroke" thing, but nevermind, I'll go think positive to solve it) npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi I hope they had a fun time with the fieldwork. No harm in slothing it for a while π I should be putting plants in today before tomorrows rain, but absolutely no energy for that, maybe once I get back from the docs. npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi I think Mouse has a fine grasp of what petting entails, she is so cute. I'm alright, going to get bloods done soon and hoping it stays dry while I'm out. How are you doing? npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Fat cat is really photogenic and so easy to get a picture of, this little beastie is a nightmare to photograph, he normally doesn't sit still long enough! npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Finally, a decent photo of skinny cat! I'm up, I'm full of energy, its going to be a glorious day.....is a lie, I'm up, I'm groaning and I'm grumpy that I need to leave the house today since I can't eat green bread. I got right into the stitching zone yesterday and just want to get back to it today. Its zoomies weekend, one of my favourite tracks - Monaco! Although quali is often the most exciting part of the weekend π¬ Now, meds (and actually remember to take them this morning), more coffee and on with the day! Have a good one folks! https://media.beige.party/media_attachments/files/114/555/293/967/688/458/original/a49ee1a15a53749f.png npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Thanks Caity, I can't wait to head to Glasgow, its always feels like going home (even though I have never lived there). How are things with you? npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Morning folks. Monday and I'm going to have a good day - I hope. Off to Glasgow with the child today, going to see Guenther Steiner on stage this evening, a night in a hotel and home early tomorrow. I really need to get my backside in gear and get organised, naturally I feel like a sack of shite, as always I'll be "okay" once I get moving, but I'll have another coffee first. Have a great day everyone! npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Living dangerously, cream coloured shirt on and poached egg for breakfast....the shirt survived, hurrah! npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Thanks Caity, I should perk up by the time I have to leave the house and my friend knows it has to be a slow day. How are things with you? npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Morning lovely people. Its theatre day for me, off to Edinburgh with a friend to see Moulin Rouge. I won't lie, I'm not as excited as I could be, probably because I am stupidly tired this morning. I'm sure I'll be fine after a shower. As always, expect me to be quiet today and probably the next few days as I recover from todays outing, at least there is F1 this weekend, before I head to Glasgow on Monday. I need coffee before I start getting organised. Have a fabulous day folks! npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Morning folks. I'm back on coffee though, with no ill effects, that is a hurrah. It is sheer laziness just because I can't be bothered refilling the tea caddy, I will do that later though. I didn't watch Eurovision semi finals last night, since I had, yet another migraine. I guessed that the lighting of Eurovision would not help with it. The child will no doubt tell me all about it today. Today, I am definitely stitching, new part comes out on Saturday and naturally I am not ready for it. It will also force me to relax today to hopefully recover from yesterday and recharge for tomorrow. Have the day you need folks π https://media.beige.party/media_attachments/files/114/504/339/041/473/051/original/0b53886ab14083e7.png npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi Good morning lovely people. I think the child had a good birthday yesterday, today its my turn. Talking with a friend the other day, she said "let me know if you want to do anything for your birthday", my response was "I'll either go out for a walk or spend the day gaming, depending how I feel", she pulled a horrified face "ewwww, but we could go for drinks".....or perhaps I could spend the day doing what I want to do, novel idea. As it is, right now I'm drinking tea and thinking "everything hurts and its going to be too damn hot today", maybe I should play WoW until meds kick in. Have a fabulous day everyone π npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi For the childs birthday...he hasn't asked for one, but when we do quizzes (a daily thing), if he doesn't know the answer, he says big octopus....so I've decided he needs a big octopus. npub12e0jvq4hr0wvm757san5tkx3lqarl7t4d0v7d480pumgfvmn2v4skusjuu Fi I have a list of things I should be doing. Housework. The garden. The stitchalong before the next part comes out on Saturday. Going out to search for a big octopus plushie. Going out to top up the electric metre. Making a couple of phone calls. Its tempting to go out and play in the sunshine, it really is a lovely day and its going to be a warm one. It would also be very stupid to go out today, the sun does not like me, my body is aching from yesterday and the rest of the week is busy. Maybe I'll just play WoW a little longer until I decide what to do.
