It's #RedDressDay here in BC. We are remembering the missing and murdered indigenous women. This does not minimise the suffering of others who have gone missing or lost people to violence. No one is being erased or ignored. But these women and girls WERE ignored. Their loss was dismissed and it should not have been. We must mark this day.
In doing so, we can acknowledge that women suffer from violence more than men do, and that women from marginalised groups suffer even more.

Any headline that follows "Trump says" is a waste of pixels. He lies. That's all he ever does. Not worth reporting what he blarts out of his face hole. Report on how regular folks are faring under his regime. Who's working on the farms? Who's working construction? Where's the wave of qualified Americans coming from to fill the jobs that haven't materialized?

So sick of this stupid question. I deliver library materials to people who cannot get to the library. A large number of them have visual difficulties. We provide audio materials for these people and they thank me FOR GIVING THEM THE CHANCE TO CONTINUE READING.
Get off this stupid hobby horse and tackle the idiots claiming that "AI" summaries as as good as reading the whole book.

Yeah, I guess, but then no one "wins".
I did Nano once or twice. It's not a good way for me to work, but other people really love it. I think it's a solid shame they can't come out in support of humanity. If you have trouble writing a resume or application letter, sure, roll the dice and use AI. If you want to write a novel, put the time in. I'd love to be able to carve marble, but I won't put in the years it would take to learn. Using a computer to do it for me would not be the same.
