FLX1 is definately the linux phone what I can recommended for daily driving. Fastest, best battery life, best performance and most stable. I have basicly tried and owned all options. This really just works and the core team of furilabs is really passionate about this.
But one correction: Gigaset is not the manufacturer and never was. The phone comes from the same factory (Gigaset slogan "Made in Germany" is really strange if you want to look into it.).

This is not polished solution but I have been struggling with this too. Check this:
https://gitlab.com/Alaraajavamma/fastflx1/-/blob/0749110e7bf62838c8b3503a09a43d2939df5c44/scripts/short-press#L42-64
There are many ways to how to trigger this but the overal idea is:
1. Start gnome-contacts
2. Use keyboard shortcut to open "New contact" window
3. Press tab 4 times to get to the phonenumber field
4. Copy the number there
Hacky but I like it :)

While FLX1 is at the moment the #linuxmobile where "everything really works as you would expect on 2024 phone" it is still cool and hackable linux phone for enthusiast too.
I parsed some things together and made some cool tweaks to #FuriPhoneFLX1 which might be helpful for other cases too. I have tested this only on FLX1 so target audience for ootb working solution are customers of @npub1pl0…qn57
Before installing please read instructions and ask if you are not sure

SMS, MMS and Calls - including VoLTE and SMS over 4G works. Camera works (as in camera 2024 - not as in mainline)
Furilabs Firefox is best browser I have used. There are lot of small fixes which kind needed to be done if you want to provide solid experience - like decent file picker or automaticly popping keyboard in all apps.
Android container feels integrated.
I am not saying FLX1 does not have issues but all linux phone issues are solved imo.

linux phone which is as reliable as mainstream devices is FLX1
I have used linux phones as long as I can remember. I have owned 2 x Librem 5, like 6 Pinephone Pros, 10 Pinephone Betas, Gemini PDA, Cosmo Communicator, multiply Volla phones, lot of Halium devices from second hand. This is the one.

I don't want to promise too much (because I don't know exactly), but as far as I understand, Jesus got that resolved. It's just incredibly problematic because there can be different operators in different cities and guaranteed to be different in different countries. And again Furilabs want to release only functional updates (as in phones 2024) so it will take a while when you can try out.

(I have not tried all mainline devices because thanks to pmos and people like you the list is growing rapidly). So just to be clear I don't want to be rude - I love pmos and I have donated pmos.
But when I said "best achievements of the linux mobile community" I literally ment also libhybris and halium.
This will be the device which you could give to your grandmother (maybe in 2025) and she could enjoy it and make call for you (just an example of the idea - mines are dead lol)

In my mobile linux adventure I understanded that all I wanted was similar experience what I get from laptop linux aka. it should compete with Windows but you can choose how it behaves or looks. Honestly, there have never been options like this before.
In the perfect world this would be mainline device. But I literally have all the options side by side. This is enjoyable to use. Mainline devices are enjoyable to use if you choose to love them before you use them.

I have been daily driving FLX1 from Furilabs for few weeks now.
Believe me this is the phone which will finally gain some market share to linux mobile.
It has all the best achievements of the linux mobile community.
It has been in market for month and it is allready better than any other linux phone that I ever had (I basicly have/had them all - starting from the BQ Aquaris)
Feel free to ask questions I can try answer. #flx1 #furilabs #linuxmobile #mobilelinux #phosh @npub1pl0…qn57
