If you can afford to spend a decent bit more, the MNT Reform series might be worth looking at, as the #PinebookPro is about 5 years old, now. I still think it's a pretty good deal, though, if you're mainly looking at writing, scripting, or programming with languages that don't require a ton of resources to function (C, shell, python, perl, not so much rust or haskell).

Real quick:
Camera: almost useless because of drivers. Can technically capture fast enough, but too slow for any acutal video conferencing. Basically only ffplay and mpv directly to /dev/video# work, even Cheese is basically a slideshow.
Keyboard: delightful, but not lit
Trackpad: barely tolerable. I have it off by default, and set a shortcut of super+T in sway to toggle it. I use it maybe 5% of the time

There's a debian-handbook package that is only 35 MB (as a .deb) and 96MB installed.
THIS SHOULD BE INSTALLED BY DEFAULT ON ALL #DEBIAN SYSTEMS.
Especially if it could be broken up by language, then it would only be 9MB max.
But since it's *not* installed by default, I can't use it. Grrr.
Guys, we can do better than this.

Yeah, it's a Rockchip ARM board.
I've only run Manjaro (here comes the BTW guys, lol), EndeavourOS (same, lol), and Armbian (pretty purely Debian-based, although they have an Ubuntu flavor, as well).
The app availability from the debian repos is solid, but flatpak is not as good as amd64. Same goes for AUR.

I found a set of laptop screws on #LexCorp that not only fit the holes at the top (hinge-side) perfectly, the head of the screws are bigger than stock, so it holds the bottom plate (with its now-enlarged screw holes) in place, anchoring the hinge properly.

I found vcf_contacts_merger, but it has weird python requirements that I just couldn't manage to satisfy.
Ideally either a downloadable linux app or a FOSS #Android app (or at least a non-foss Android app that I can run with networking privileges revoked).
It can't be a google app or rely on uploading my contacts to "the cloud."

I'm looking for a good X11 terminal that does a good job of using a fallback font like "Noto Color Emoji" to render glyphs (such as emojis) that aren't present in the main font.
My favorite terminal right now is #foot, but it is #wayland-only, and I need an option for systems where Wayland either isn't a viable option at all (#NetBSD, #OpenBSD), or just not a *good* option yet (*cough*, #KDE #Plasma).
The only features I really care about is emoji and easy font resizing.

I've been trying to figure out how to live with a PDA-type (non-cellular) device and a mifi (the @npub1606…yxcd sells private MiFi memberships, both 4G and 5G for a reasonable price)
I just can't find any viable solution for getting an internet-based phone number WITH SMS support. All of the generic SIP plans are prohibitively expensive per SMS message, and the only affordable things are Google Voice (ICK!) and Line2 (still tied to Android).

I've got an odd graphical problem and I need the advice of some #GIMP experts.

Something I miss from #MacOS: Being able to command-click on a Finder window's titlebar, and seeing a pop-up menu of the entire file path.
I can't find any convenient way of doing this in #KDE #Dolphin, other than making the window huge so it can show the entire path, which doesn't work with my workflow most of the time.

This is why (IMHO) user interface design has gone to total crap in the last decade.
The people who made UIs what they were are no longer doing it, and the ones that are designing UIs now don't understand the extremely practical design considerations of 20-year-old interfaces, and are now changing things for novelty's sake, and breaking 40-year-old UI design standards. 😢

The ONLY Macintoshes that ran at 512x384 were the 1990 Mac LC and IIsi with the 12" screen, and the Color Classic and perhaps other related later all-in-ones.
ALL MONOCHROME COMPACT MACS HAD 512x342 RESOLUTION SCREENS.

I gave up because pipx refuses to install urwid, and I think Debian's version is *drumroll* way too old. ;)
I wish pipx just had scli. There's an scli package in PyPI, but it's literally an empty placeholder for nothing.

I'm pretty complexity-averse, and I've had a good time with pelican as my SSG. It's pretty dead simple to set up and use, more so than Hugo, IMHO

Great, the new captcha involves looking for a combination of numbered and dotted 6-sided dice that total to a number given.
Now I'm actually having to THINK to solve captchas.
