I'm a little sad that nobody caught the easter egg in yesterday's blog post. 😢

New Blog Post: EV charging myths
Six months ago I bought an EV. It's been a great experience and I've learned a lot. Or, more accurately, I've unlearned a lot.

Like every other asshole, I have an opinion about generative AI and LLMs. I also have some ideas to address some of their harms.

The Heist is less than two blocks from #75 bus.
John's Marketplace is a half block from the #9 bus.

How about, instead of giving over $100M of Portland money to the billionaire owner of a sports team in return for ... whatevs??? ... we build a local, municipal ice rink.

A great interview. If you're a public supporter of libraries, @npub1prs…eh8y lays out why they are important public institutions that should be protected. If you're library staff, it's a great reminder of how important your work is.

The mayor of the Sellwood-Moreland neighborhood has passed. If you ever went to the CVS at 17th and Tacoma, you may have run into Nutmeg the cat. His owner has posted the news to Facebook. The little guy will be missed.

Remember back when Joe Biden was president and we had this Trumpy Postmaster General who was destroying the USPS, but the president couldn't fire him or do anything about it because ... uuhhh ... institutional norms or constitutional order or something.
Ah, yes, those were good times.

This looks interesting. I tried the M5stack Atom Echo and the drivers are crazy buggy. But I haven't given to on voice.

I try to hold just two streaming subscriptions at a time. One is YouTube Premium. The other rotates. It's been stuck on Paramount Plus for a long time, because Star Trek ate my brain and I paid for a year at the start of the last Strange New Worlds season.
It's about to run its course and I'll be damned if I'm going to give that MAGA asshole any more money.
We switched to Apple TV and OMG, it's like a time warp where peak TV still exists. Who knew -- it's great!

We visited Silver Falls yesterday. It was a fabulous day and the view was spectacular. And Silverton was a lovely town. It was a great day trip destination.

I must have had a staggeringly positive balance in the karma bank.
Biked to the library. Locked it up street side. Forgot to remove my phone from the handlebars cradle. Came out two hours later. Phone was where I left it.
Phew! 😅

Are there any amateur #classicalGuitar players in the #portland area that are interested in getting together with a low key, small group of other (adult) players? A bunch of us are putting together a monthly salon. The skill levels range widely, from noob on up -- all welcome. You can bring a guitar and play if you want, or just hang and chat. We've met a few times, and it's been great.
DM me if you are interested.

Cassidy knew better. He was in a deep pit from voting for impeachment. I guess he thought if he sold out his personal and professional ethics and took one for the team then MAGA would forgive him.
Fat chance. He got nothing out of it and is on track to lose his seat anyway.

This story is gutting. This woman deserves a scholarship because her services are needed. Not deportation due to bigoted policies.

I'm reconsidering.
I was not a fan of Wilson's recent announcement regarding city DEI policy rollbacks. But, he may have done what he had to, to protect city interests while maintaining local values.
And the city (and state!) have been great handing this crisis.

I have a report from the #portland war zone.
I just returned from a meeting of a classical guitar group at a Central Eastside library. Now I'm sitting at an outdoor table at a sandwich shop on Burnside waiting for my order. It's a lovely day.
Very few dead bodies to dodge. Mostly skateboards and bicycles and people out for a stroll..

Just got email from the Mayor of Portland essentially saying, "we're adopting Trump's racist policies to protect city funding."
Wishing I was living in the timeline where I get email from the Mayor of Portland saying, "we're going to sue that racist POS."
