I assume gun in the name is for brutal and potentially destructive acceleration. I had more in mind a locomotive with a hook. Locomotive go all the way of the take off strip. Ideally before it reach the end, the plane got enough lift to go faster than the hook and leave the locomotive behind. Locomotive go back to start and grab next plane.
the idea is, as you leave the take off motor behind, it can be way heavy so electric motor would be no issue.

about plane, from my understanding most of the energy is needed during take off. So I'm wondering, maybe we could put the plane on an electric train or something, making it go fast enough it got lift.

my opinion is steam machine as expensive or cheaper than PS5. Sadly, PS5 pro is 800 bucks.
I kinda want a front plate with a "screen" builtin. I was thinking something like a 32x32 led matrix, grabbing power and data from one of the front usb. The idea would be to display things like sonic's screen power up or N64 goldeneye's computer screen texture

I wonder if turnkey fediverse instance could help. Like you have a service that let you create xyz.smoll.network or xyz.community.area where signup require a QR code. You plaster a couple of QR code around your town, offering local social network with no ads. you convince the local pub and the school newspaper to join.
Fediverse has no ads and doesn't hide post from follower to extract more ads. It just need to be convenient

our typical rail app doesn't scale but cohost kinda did so maybe there are some tidbits that are interesting for the purpose of scaling a rail apps.
And like I said, the code is like the most boring, useless part of cohost. The important part is the community and that is no code at all.

I guess that's why they spend so much time tweaking the cache to handle all the sessions or optimizing the query. Because it was a boring app handling 3 users and 20 messages over a weekend.

there might have been talk of the code being open-sourced anyway? But honestly, the source code is far from being the most interesting except maybe for the "let's handle large volume of user" part. It was mainly the people and connexion that made cohost (IMO) and there is a phpbb made by cohost refugee that have been advertised on the tag if you want to find the good vibes
