For a small number of albums, when I set it playing, and I hear the opening notes of track 1, I get that wonderful feeling: "The next hour [or whatever] is going go be OK".
For example:
Massive Attack "Future proof" (album: 100th Window)
Radiohead "Everything in its right place" (album: Kid A)
What are yours?

Need more info. If it's "live hand grenades with the pin out", then I take none. If it's "things that have been stolen from me", then I take as many as I can carry. Other combinations are possible.

Being unemployed means that I have a lot more free time than usual. For example, to relax, or learn new skills. This morning I was thinking to myself, it would be nice if I could find new artistic outlets of expression.
So I made some snow tits.

Ooh lovely, I’ve never been there :)
Possible inspiration: find a quiet place where very little happens (but ideally not nothing). Set up phone on a tripod. Record, wait 5 minutes, stop.
An exercise in, and a later prompt to engage in, relaxation.

Aww thanks Lucy :)
Today I have done almost nothing, which if I were at home would probably frustrate me, but here, I’ve really enjoyed doing nothing :)
And right now I’m in the interval of a blues quartet gig, and it’s honestly one the best experiences I’ve had all year 😁 There might even be a few hours tomorrow morning to squeeze something in before I have to go.
I’ve seen hardly anything of the island. I will be back 🥰

One coffee, coming right up!
I'm just deciding what I want to do with my time. I've got 7 hours now before a thing I have planned for this evening; and about 6 hours tomorrow before I need to leave. All of which are forecast to be unpleasantly stormy. My hotel is right on the main town square, and that place the photo was at is about 1 minute's walk away. I'm thinking maybe I might stretch to walking all the way to the opposite end of the square, but we'll see how the weather is :-)

Paging the Fediverse! I've been out of work since the middle of 2024 and would like to change that :-)
I'm a software engineer of more than 25 years' experience. Most recently, I have been doing back end work using TypeScript, Ruby, and Java. I've worked at an ISP, at a national broadcaster, a high-volume web SaaS provider, and a medtech startup; I've led teams, been a tech lead, and been an at-the-coalface coder.
Do you know of somewhere that could use my experience? I'm a British citizen living in Denmark, and I'd strongly prefer not to have to move. Yet.

Can you help me #GetFediHired / #FediHired? Boost please, etc. Thank you :-)

Maybe, and I could look it up; the point is not that I want to know, the point is coherence in storytelling.

Somehow, "disgraced" feels like rather a weak adjective to apply to someone who made indecent images of children. Maybe it's a legal thing; maybe the journalists are compelled to hold back, while the case is still in progress. idk.
