The scientific method was designed to break consensus through falsification. But the institution of science has evolved to optimize for career preservation and funding continuity.
Those two things are in direct conflict. And AI is about to make it worse.
Federal grants go through peer review panels staffed by establishment researchers who fund work that builds on their frameworks. Tenure depends on publications approved by the same gatekeepers.
The result is that only the independently wealthy can afford to pursue heterodox research. Everyone else self censors to survive.
Now add AI to the loop.
Human gatekeeping → biased research → biased training data → biased AI → AI reinforces consensus → funding follows AI → repeat.
Each cycle gets harder to break because the machine gets more authoritative and more efficient at marginalizing dissent.
We are not automating discovery. We are automating orthodoxy.

Thanks for posting. I remember reading this. Obviously, that is a factual statement, but I still view coin loss as net negative for the network. I’m not hopeful for a phase in the immediate to mid-term future where newly lost keys outpace block rewards. When issuance is zero, lost keys will converge to zero, but will never be zero. There will be a day when it’s deflationary. I think it’s over 50years away and that’s all

Not in our lifetime. I assume by then coin loss will be very minimal. I would hesitate to call it deflationary when that timeframe is nearly 100 years away.

Jpow had an intimate understanding of how Fed policy impacts market risk. His career was built taking advantage of the financial engineering made possible by ZIRP. He also has a history of talking hawkish and voting dovish on the FOMC. I feel like he’s “fed” up and may go rogue. Jay can turn music off and leave a lot participants without a chair. Can’t tell if he has it in him. None of this matter to Bitcoin in the long run, just might be able to snag some more cheap Sats in the short run.
