Side note, for now the plugin adds the original "embed code" from https://github.com/stefanbohacek/fediverse-share-button/#how-to-use. I figured this works for now while I'm testing things, but I intend to bundle the script and style with the plugin.

Can someone who knows more about how Mastodon/the fediverse works help me understand something?
I've seen this happen with a few accounts now where I'd be trying to search for a post by its URL and it would not show up on some servers, but it would on others. I'd think these accounts might've been suspended, but the accounts themselves are found, and so are some of their older posts. I'd expect a suspended account not to show up at all, but maybe this is how it works?

The year before #juneteenth became a holiday here in the US, I suggested to the HR at my job to make it a company-wide day off for everyone.
The management was already pretty generous with 1-2 Fridays off every month, giving us occasional half days off before holidays, etc.
And while my suggestion wasn't fully implemented (we all did receive an extra day off, and Juneteenth was given as an example of how to use it), it felt great to speak up about something important.

I wonder why the Android Gmail app shows the number of emails in your trash. They don't do that in the web version.
I use filters and labels pretty extensively, so this breaks the ability to quickly scan my unread emails.
Minor nuisance, but still makes me wonder about this design decision/inconsistency.

Is the problem folks have with quotes/quote-boosts that the person quoted gets a notification?
Or that the quoted post gets visually formatted as a post. Or both?
I see these as two separate features, and I'd be personally fine with just the preview without a notification, which is what some apps do, I believe.

One interesting lesson about the #fediverse is that centralization and algorithms are not all bad.
Centralization for managing block lists, and a simple algorithm that shows you posts popular in your network, so that your friends who live in different timezones don't need to repost their posts every few hours.
I know some will disagree, but to me the fediverse is not about being against these things on principles, rather approaching them more thoughtfully.

I resigned from my job earlier this week and today is my last day.
