I enjoyed both. I don't think that the official XCOM series is going underwater any time soon, but there is an alternative. Julian Gollop and Snapshot games did make a spiritual successor called Phoenix Point. It even got a large mod recently, aptly named Terror from the Void. I haven't tried the game yet, but this could really scratch that TFTD itch!

Same here. I daily drove SailfishOS on Xperia 10 III for three years. Only thing that forced me back to Android was the awful dependencies of Google Play Services on many apps. Also banking apps and the like seem to need hardware attestation, which is heavily dependend on the big G. It shouldn't need to be that way...

I've been using IRC at work for the last two decades. Its the only communication channel that just keeps on working. It would be cool if there was a matrix bridge to Libera chat's #Fosstodon Using IRC on mobile can be painful.

Thank you for all the work and effort you've but in over the years. Its no meager task to brave the storms of the internet! And seems like it sure has taken a toll on you. Walking away now seems like the best option. Keeping ones sanity should always come first.

The trick is to use Nextcloud just as a file sync platform (and maybe calendar). Then take notes with something proper like Joplin.
