It’s easy to collect all these services like Pokémon and not use them… I unsubscribed from Disney+ earlier this year. My wife resubscribed so she could watch Rivals, so I guess I win that one?

I don’t know, but the fact that you don’t have your strap properly aligned irks me.

Don’t forget the posts by “thought leaders” who attempt to turn mundane activities into insights, complete with AI slop images.

Best to think of it as adverts with occasional breaks for sport.

Swift was the big inflection point in the Apple community. It feels to me it was somehow more humane when everyone used Objective C.

Rhetorical question of the day: why do people think it's okay to abbreviate my name to "Steve" without asking first?

“Small Prophets is sad and funny and whimsical, an unlikely piece of alchemy that comes together as simultaneously wild and understatedly humane.” That’s a pretty much perfect description.

Product Manager (capital letters) is a job. Platform teams don’t necessarily have one of those, but if you’re deciding what to implement next, that’s product management. Whatever your job title.

Isn’t figuring out what the team should build next product management? He seems to be making a distinction between a role and a job, which I don’t think is significant.

I remember that, because I have two copies of Debut, one with and one without “Play Dead.” It’s odd that the version on Apple Music is the older version.

“Underage girls” is such horrible phrasing.

Using science (checking the website), I can confirm that you can pre-order the 18 but not the Duo.

What we’ve found is that bars isn’t a good measure any more. We often get four bars in central London but no data. Recently switched from Three to Giffgaff (like Tesco, on O2) and it’s both cheaper and better, at least where we are.

Great show; recommended.
But I don't think 9to5Mac have seen it. "In the show, a group of ordinary kids begin receiving glimpses of the future, and they must figure out whether fate can be changed."

Bit of a lazy toot: does anyone have any experience with the support policies of vendors behind open source products?
A client has a heavily patched version of our software. I don't think we can reasonably support it but they're saying "other vendors do." I don't see how that can be true. How can you certify an unknown volume of code you can't see?

Puzzlingly good run at #parkrun today, over two minutes faster than my last at the same place, best “age grade” there since 2022. Not sure how it happened, but no complaints. Maybe it was the new shoes or slightly more conducive weather?

"Barely profitable" is a choice. Did they need to build that car dingus? Or pay millions to get exclusive podcast deals?
