Currently working with @npub1rxj…avg0 (Previous administrator) and @npub1t50…kgs5 (Moderation) to transfer ownership of the popular https://techhub.social/ Mastodon Instance.
This is where the Patreon money is going to be able to support other Fediverse administrators who are no-longer able to support the operational time and pressure... which there is a lot.
I'm proud to be able to keep this large mastodon instance online for the future.

:awesome: Update: Aus.Social has updated to the latest mastodon code and I've enabled the "incoming quotes" feature.
So you'll start seeing quote toots in your feed... it will take a few more months until we can actually post your own quote toots.

:angry_cowboy: :oh_no_bubble: OUTAGE INSIGHT: I'm going to keep this technical...
Our server is running is running on an AMD EYPC server, and the storage is ten x INTEL enterprise SSDs running ZFS.
I had decided to add a " ZIL SLOG" to the "ZFS pool" using the motherboards two NVME slots as a mirror (of two WD Blue SSDs)... This is for some additional write performance but considering how many RAM I have on the server. I doubt if this actually does much.
Last night after 12 months of operation.. one of those NVME drives decided to die, and because of the ZFS redundency requirements... it automatically shut down the primary storage in an abundance of caution.
I just removed the log device from the pool and everything was back online!... and I'll need to replace that log device NVME with something enterprise grade.
Bottom line: I made a decision to buy something cheap instead of spending a little extra and it came back to bite me.
