now that i have sold 2 copies of my album i gotta take advantage of this momentum by getting my next one out asap

2026-06-02 01:15:26 GMT

now seems like a relevant time to bring up again how i think we should have a Ministry of Software that writes all the code needed for government purposes
having in-house web development seems like a pretty sensible thing for councils to have as well, as there will always be need for it

sick of new zealanders' overt nasty attitudes about cities and the people who live in them. not everyone who lives in a city is a wealthy office drone & it's kinda bullshit how anything that might benefit people who live in cities is dismissed as impractical because it doesn't work for everyone else

2026-03-29 04:04:44 GMT

anyone here taking buproprion and care to chat about it w me

just got my covid booster! they didn't mention that side effects include being upset by the texture of certain foods and being unable to stop feeling the seams in the toes of your socks

2026-03-24 20:12:20 GMT

sucks living a pretty low-consumption lifestyle and knowing how many people would sooner let the planet burn than live the way you do

2026-03-24 04:57:19 GMT

cool paper about trans employment rates. what a shame you didn't separate out transfem vs transmasc so it's worthless. try again.

2026-03-17 02:57:01 GMT

probably a good time to mention again how we use the word "farmer" to mean farm owner, and the immigrants stacked in bunks working 12+ hour days on the farms don't get a mention at all

supply and demand doesn't cross the urban/rural boundary

2026-03-16 23:33:02 GMT

"public transport subsidies don't help rural people". you mean rural people who need the fuel being used by city slickers who don't actually need to drive

here i make the case for getting rid of cars from two places in wellington that have already proven they're better off without them:

2026-03-07 00:42:24 GMT

hello there, city slicker. i see you are posting about transport. do you realise that when you talk about lowering urban speed limits you're forgetting about the needs of people like me, someone who drives 100km to work and back along a rural state highway? typical out-of-touch townies

2026-03-05 21:08:09 GMT

do you think the oil war will make people drive less or do you think they'll just run up more debt to do it and get even angrier at cyclists

2026-03-03 04:24:46 GMT

these are the questions you have to answer before you can get a food grant

the older i get the more radical my anti-fireworks position becomes. ban the damn things. we clearly can't be trusted with them

2026-02-17 08:14:49 GMT

someone nearby is setting off fireworks non-stop, but i called council and they blanket don't take calls about fireworks bc by the time they get someone out there they've usually stopped

2026-02-17 04:12:19 GMT

trans and menopausal women in new zealand should all unite in a campaign to get pharmac to approve and fund estrogen injections, to give us all another option

new zealand has a massive bullying problem that absolutely does not end when you leave school. maybe we should try something else to curb bullying. maybe something that doesn't cost families thousands of dollars

2026-02-05 02:34:54 GMT

"school uniforms stop bullying"
does your office dress code stop you from getting bullied at work

gears changed without making any noise, i went faster with less effort, and my gears weren't doing that thing where you think you changed gears but then you put weight on and lurch forward bc there was one change left to go

2025-11-21 07:45:14 GMT

a man said "sorry darling" and stepped back as i passed him on the street and i realised the key to passing as a woman is to look serious, walk fast, and avoid eye contact with men

2025-11-19 00:35:11 GMT

so like, when you do the sexy maid thing do you actually clean? or do you just mince around with a duster. wondering if i could raise some funds by charging extra to do what i do now, but in a bra and shorter shorts

2025-11-18 01:36:54 GMT

idk how people don't seem to want to understand that if you give people options that aren't cars then there are fewer cars in your way

2025-10-28 06:43:08 GMT

I'm getting so many posts from national and act about labour's cgt, and one commenter pointed out it seems to have them nervous

2025-10-21 21:54:33 GMT

the shed in our yard is one of those metal ones you buy from bunnings etc and the bottom has all rusted away so the metal bar keeping the sheets together is gone. I need a temporary solution for it to survive tomorrow's storm. anyone have any ideas? I have bungee cords, duct tape, zip ties, and rope

all the advice in this book is somewhat undercut by the knowledge that the real Japanese Secret to a Long and Happy Life is to have all your birth records bombed in a war so nobody can verify if you are as old as you say you are. also don't read this book if you have an eating disorder.

2025-10-10 20:15:44 GMT

reading Ikigai: The Japanese Secret To a Long and Happy Life and my main criticism is why did they bind it this way it's like the book is trying to slam itself shut

2025-07-15 23:45:00 GMT

sometimes I'm thinking about plans for next year or the year after and it hits me that the fog has lifted enough for me to see that far ahead. I'm not just trying to survive to the end of the day anymore.

2025-06-11 08:49:13 GMT

things politically are worse than I can ever remember them, but for the first time in my life I'm out of survival mode.

2025-02-13 02:02:09 GMT

the first europeans arrived in Aotearoa from the modern day via a hole in space-time in the pacific ocean. unperturbed by the implications of time travel, they were mostly concerned with their vehicles.
"where do I park my car?" they asked over and over, which is where we get the word pākehā

2025-02-12 05:46:06 GMT

if we're handing out special visas can we give them to people who know how to make regional cuisines we don't have. we don't want more rich people but it would be nice to have some more kinds of takeaways

2025-02-10 06:15:03 GMT

imagine airborne viruses didn't exist
you'd still want air purifiers and good air circulation in classrooms so students get enough oxygen to their brains to study effectively and not fall asleep

2025-02-09 08:01:25 GMT

can we get someone to Luigi the CEO of a car company to make them think twice before releasing and marketing another bloated child killer

2025-02-03 06:21:02 GMT

2025-01-09 03:33:57 GMT

I love that all the new social media sites are twitter clones and that none of them have any sort of tools for organising events with your friends. dope dope dope.

2024-12-30 00:38:29 GMT

it's kinda weird that the term "mum and dad" is meant to elicit sympathy for investors when so many people have adverse relationships with their parents

2024-12-11 06:52:04 GMT

incel this, sigma that. back in my day when men got rejected by women they got matching mop top haircuts and wrote Rubber Soul

my body: you have an unmet need
me: is it water?
body: maybe
me: is it food? bathroom?
body: maybe
me: can't you just tell me?
body: no, but you are going to feel weird and off until you figure it out

2024-09-22 23:26:03 GMT

hey does anyone in Wellington have progynova that is excess to requirements? bullshit endo advice means my doctor won't represcribe

2024-09-09 08:45:08 GMT

anyone in or around Newtown looking for a queer musician flatmate to move in end of this month?

2024-08-27 06:17:28 GMT

I realise this far down the list of problems with modern automobiles, but why are they so damn ugly? I swear cars get uglier every year.

2024-08-26 08:10:45 GMT

nz driving culture already sucked. now we're in year 5 of a pandemic of an illness with long-term effects on the brain. probably a good idea to be looking into how brain fog and increased emotional impulsivity might impact the millions of people operating heavy machinery every day.

2024-08-26 08:10:07 GMT

"road deaths aren't caused by speed they're caused by human error" unless you can figure out how to make sure human beings never make mistakes, maybe it isn't a good idea to massivdly increase the stakes of those mistakes so you can get across the city 40 seconds faster

2024-08-26 08:09:11 GMT

my kid has this huge tumour on their neck, but I don't want to take them to a doctor to get it checked out. I just think these days everybody is so obsessed with diagnosing everything and putting a label on it.
"Autistic", "ADHD", "cancer". Whatever happened to just letting kids be kids without putting them in boxes?
