Try running NV, Fallout 3 or Oblivion (original) on modern Windows and you'll run into all sorts of problems, but running those games on Linux via Proton is a significantly better experience. npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…h399 I'd say 2008. Things were still pretty good until the recession and a certain somebody who hesitated when he spoke. npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: Gmanlives is one of my favorite gaming Youtube channels. He's not exclusively retro but he covers a lot of great retro games in reviews and retrospectives that I personally think are very well-done. https://youtu.be/AKjbPaFMCOE #RetroGames #pcgaming #doom #fps npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…h399 I hate to side with Boomers OR Gen X'ers but they're not entirely wrong. Just not seeing the whole picture, either. It's a combination of laziness, fear of conditions (especially those who live in cesspits known as a modern city), but it's also because of the over-reliance on smartphones and social media. Seen all three of these with my own eyes. npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…h399 I still read both, mostly novels. As for comics, that's usually only for certain franchises like Star Wars, and I also dabble in manga. npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: One of the games that formulated my childhood was Star Wars: Rebel Assault II. It's an on-rails shooter and not particularly amazing in terms of design, acting or CGI, but it stood right next to the original trilogy, building my earliest memories of Star Wars. The sense of Star Wars atmosphere was spot on, and it placed you right into a story that FELT like one of the movies, yet didn't share any of their plots. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8oyhIfhzzgQ #RetroGames #msdos #dosgaming #pcgaming #PCMR #90s #fmv npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…h399 I'd really love to live in Nirn (Elder Scrolls world), specifically in the Summerset Isles. A runner up would Cyrodiil during the height of the Third Empire, before the Oblivion Crisis. Summerset is gorgeous, basically an eternal late spring but with a comfortable summer climate and ethereal architecture. Video can't do it justice, you kinda have to explore it yourself to really grasp how beautiful it is. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3gJwzPRHjfE npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: In your opinion, what is the most quintessentially 90s video game you can imagine? Good to know that there are options to reduce it at least. npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: I think one of the loneliest parts of growing older is that you've had the time to witness the things you grew up with fade away, and you can't do anything about it. Then, you know your children will never get to experience some of the things that helped shape you into the person you are. Some things from my childhood are making a return, and that brings me endless joy, but there are some things that simply don't come back, leaving them only a nostalgic memory. #Nostalgia #thoughts #memory https://cdn.masto.host/retrogaidencom/media_attachments/files/116/775/355/572/619/147/original/e20670ace244b475.jpg https://cdn.masto.host/retrogaidencom/media_attachments/files/116/775/355/562/534/304/original/51746917998120ab.jpg https://cdn.masto.host/retrogaidencom/media_attachments/files/116/775/355/595/307/691/original/7d63e18d570f2b2d.jpg npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: After watching this guy playing the first game, I'm strongly considering grabbing the Master of Orion 1+2 bundle on GOG for the summer sale. It's a good song other than that! npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: I know Marble Zone gets a lot of hate and I understand why (the level design being the main issue), but I always loved the aesthetic of it. npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…scxd I feel like I read how to unlock him in a game tips magazine way back when but I can't remember it now haha. Every time I sit down and play it again, I forget he was even in that game until he randomly pops up. npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: To end this rant, I just want to say that if you are able to stop looking at all the bad stuff in life, the good stuff shines brighter. When you learn to look beyond what the system shows you to keep you ineffective and depressed, you start to see so much beauty, so much hope in this world where everyone seems to have lost all their optimism or desire to do anything except ironically become the eat-ze-bugs NPC drones they unironically mock daily. God didn't intend for us to stay depressed. npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: It's also tied to how I feel about the drama and doomerism people seem to really be pushing. Take the retro community, for instance: we all grew up in a better era and we can be homesick for that. That doesn't mean nothing good is releasing in modernity. It doesn't mean everything new is slop. I enjoy both the old AND the new and my joy is fuller because of that. At the same time, I don't support mediocrity, but I don't feel bent out of shape when I come across it. I just simply ignore it. npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: Also, if anyone is curious why this thought popped in my head... It's thanks to my return to GOG. I gradually grew apart from GOG over the past couple years and returned recently thanks to the new ownership. Ever since I returned, I've been having a blast. Not that I've quit Steam, because I absolutely have not, but it's genuinely a good feeling to be able to appreciate and enjoy the greatness of both Steam and GOG at the same time. No fanboying, just enjoying both platforms! npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: Know something I've learned over the past year or two? Being able to love something and not be angry about its flaws is extremely underrated. Of course, you don't have to settle for mediocrity or compromise your morals, but not everything needs to be completely perfect to still be enjoyable. This applies to every facet of life, from video games to current events to your daily routine. Learn to appreciate the goodness and enjoy this beautiful life God has given us! #life #advice #thankful npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: I generally don't care for foul language but this clip has always made me crack up ever since I first saw it years ago. I didn't go all-in on buying games there until 2018 or so but it's also my home on PC. npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…j6ac I'm optimistic on both but it's also a big part of why I diversified my game library across Steam, GOG and even Epic (though I'd rather not make Epic my home platform ever). npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…j6ac Fortunate for us, Valve has a pretty darn good legal team and people behind it all (Gaben and the like) who seem to stand on principle and not just profit. npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: I still say that the multi-faceted attacks on Valve on all fronts is completely intentional: an attempt to assault one of the only pro-consumer digital media distributors on the planet. https://youtu.be/yV1_bWc0-gI npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…xuut @nprofile…8y2y Yeah, I figured they'd raise the price during this bubble but a $300 spike wasn't even remotely in my consideration :terry_nono: npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…j6ac @nprofile…8y2y It's 100% the RAM/flash memory shortage that caused this price hike. Valve pretty much all but said that in the announcement post. That's why I'm not too heartbroken: knowing how Valve operates, they will likely bring prices down again when it's feasible to do so. Non-doomerist estimates say 2027 or 2028 is when the market will start to even out and prices will go back down, which would be great for the eventual release of the Steam Deck 2. npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…8y2y It's immensely unfortunate. I don't blame Valve, there wasn't much they could do, but it still sucks. My advice would be to just wait for the Steam Deck 2, as I would guess it will probably release after the RAMpocalypse starts to die down. That, or you could buy a refurb online if you can find any in stock. It's insanely customizable and fixable so even if you buy a refurb that's not in great shape, you probably could fix it up pretty affordably. npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…j6ac Oh yeah, I remember this one :odysee_laughing: npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…j6ac I definitely recommend Mafia 2 and Watch Dogs 2, though the other games in both franchises are also worth a play. I just consider the second entry to be the best game in both franchises. Mafia 2's story is insane, a fantastic story about a guy who chooses crime at a young age and ends up trapped by his own choices. Watch Dogs 2's story is a great one about privacy, hacker culture, etc. and has great missions with incredibly refined gameplay that is just FUN to play. npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…j6ac I think the main thing for me is that I just really don't like the story or settings enough to put up with them for gameplay I can get in other franchises. Mafia has phenomenal writing. Watch Dogs has great characters and the hacking gameplay. Those, on top of roughly the same style of gameplay that GTA has, means I see zero reason to really play GTA that much. Plus, GTA 6 looks 2020s Urban Life Simulator and that's the OPPOSITE of appealing to me :terry_nono: npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: I don't think I'll ever truly understand why GTA is so beloved. Yes, during the PS2 era, they set the stage for most open world games today. However, after the PS2, the series was basically just retreading the same ground with better graphics. I actually have ZERO interest in GTA6 whatsoever. Personally, I find the Mafia and Watch Dogs games infinitely better than GTA in EVERY way. Better stories, better characters, twists on the gameplay loop, etc. #openworld #gta #gaming https://cdn.masto.host/retrogaidencom/media_attachments/files/116/628/826/939/202/994/original/7e0ce8d67d803dec.jpg https://cdn.masto.host/retrogaidencom/media_attachments/files/116/628/826/954/387/003/original/d7337078c54ab815.jpg https://cdn.masto.host/retrogaidencom/media_attachments/files/116/628/826/970/080/632/original/f39cc1dafa7ec356.webp npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…j6ac Worse still, I heard she was streaming to raise money for a family member's medical costs... even for someone with hope like mine, that makes it challenging to not lose all faith in human kindness :rp_depre: npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: Public execution for whomever swats someone. I have limited exposure to it having grown up mostly on Windows 9x, but I use a Linux CLI and these days, I always opt for Powershell in the rare cases where I use Windows because it supports Unix-like commands. I mean, I knew the 2600 was the first home console to really hit mainstream success but I didn't realize just how far Atari's impact went in both video games and personal computing. npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…x8la That's the fun part: I don't :guilded_lul: Real talk, though... I try to keep my weekends focused solely on fun stuff. Maybe not always gaming, but I try to avoid things that take a lot of time or drain a lot of energy unless it's specifically something I wanted to do that day. On weekdays, I carve out an hour or two before bed to unwind with a game, videos or a personal project. Retro Bird has a great video on the topic: https://youtu.be/HYBPG9-P-gY npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…x8la I've always been a fan of Tusky's UI. Not a huge fan of the developer but the app itself is very solid. It just feels right to use it. Of course, I miss out on OP's custom designs on RG when I go that route but I see them on PC at least! npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…gnp3 How custom was it?? That's quite a hefty price haha npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: Such an incredible game... I really need to play it again, the atmosphere and writing is unbeatable. Honestly, in their golden age, Interplay was pretty much the king of PC gaming. So many phenomenal CRPGs were released during that era, from Fallout to Baldur's Gate to Planescape: Torment. While some of those games were developed by other studios, Interplay both developed and published so many borderline flawless games back then. Also, I never played the original but the enhanced was amazing! npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…8y2y Can relate! I used to be really good at staying caught up with this community but life has been non-stop for me lately. A good problem to have (at least, it's looking like it) but still, I hate that I haven't been as sociable here as I used to be :luigisad: npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…x8la @nprofile…05fn Welcome Daniel, happy to have you here! RG is a pretty special place, that's for sure! npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…4d45 My Blu-Ray copy of the show is still sitting on my Blu-Ray player... I dug it out to rewatch it but haven't had the chance to sit down and actually do so. Such a great series! I have yet to see the movie, though. npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…05fn Looks great but is there any way you can get the images to fade out into transparency on the edges, at least on the right side? npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…05fn You don't know how to stop, in the best possible way :odysee_laughing: npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…05fn I figured it probably wouldn't work well given the little bit I know about CSS. Oh well, it looks great either way! npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…05fn That is SLEEK. Do you think it can be done for the desktop version as well, or is that beyond the scope of the way it's designed? npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…05fn Heck yeah, that's smooth :doge_cool: npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…lssg :gabletsgo: npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…05fn Ah yeah, that's one I've been planning to play at some point! npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…lssg I really need to start doing Pomodoro for my studies. I've heard it works wonders but my brain tells me that I'm wasting time if I do it :guilded_lul: npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…05fn Which game is this? I know Beyond Oasis was a really solid Zelda-like on the Genesis. npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…he7z I forgot about these! I genuinely miss them, they were fun. npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…kqnv @nprofile…05fn It still had quite a few busy servers last I checked, similar to how Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory is still pretty busy! npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…4d45 Fair enough, I would agree it would've been nice if you had more options if caught. I think they just wanted to give the whole sequence a tense feel, for better and worse. npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…2dt8 Based Japan. No more Karens keeping fathers from their kids or pitting the kids against the other parent just to win custody. npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…kqnv @nprofile…05fn Yep! You should try to get the game sometime, it's still somewhat active even today. That said, Quake Live or even the enhanced re-release of the first Quake are probably more active on the multiplayer side of things. npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…05fn Now there's a cutscene I've not seen in a long time... long time. 👴 npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…4d45 I'll give you Mother Brain, she's annoying in all the games except Super. Definitely disagree on the stealth sequence though, it was a twist that ties the whole story together IMO. npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…86gn Not bad! My only CRTs that I have are color TVs. One doesn't have the best visual quality (and it's not just because it only has composite) but the other is pretty decent despite being reasonably small. I'd love to get myself a monochrome CRT at some point, though! npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…86gn Slick, that must have been a nice dash of geeky fun! npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…86gn Partially, they're getting tougher and tougher to find for affordable rates these days. With something like this, you get the advantage of modern display tech and Linux, but you can emulate the glow of a CRT terminal. Best of both worlds! npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: If you're on Linux and want a really cool way to resemble CLIs on older machines, this little program lets you do just that. It's a separate terminal emulator launched via your existing terminal emulator and lets you change color schemes to mimic retro computers (C64, PET, IBM PCs, Apple ][, etc). Pretty fun program! It's in a lot of distro repos but if not, you can get it here: https://github.com/Swordfish90/cool-retro-term #linux #retrocomputing #PC #retropc #terminal #cli npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…05fn If only it actually FELT like spring here! :guilded_lul: npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…4d45 Super takes place after the events of Metroid 1/ZM and it's on the same planet. Metroid 2 (the GB Color game) takes place in between them. Basically, in Metroid 1/ZM, you're on Samus' first major mission for the Federation and are exploring her home world of Zebes. Without spoiling any story, Super Metroid's version of Zebes is run-down and partially destroyed. So, in essence, it's the same world but only after near-apocalyptic circumstances gripped it during the first game. npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…05fn I see you decided to go with it! I like the color you picked, the peachy orange with green accents looks perfect with the new logo and style of the site! :rg5: npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…05fn With the darker, neon-driven 90s arcade vibe that the site has, my vote is for the peach-colored Windows 95-style cursor. Feels the most appropriate IMO. npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…4d45 EDIT: Nevermind this, I just saw your newest post :guilded_lul: If you aim to play any other 2D Metroid game, I highly recommend Zero Mission. It's held in pretty equally high acclaim to Super Metroid and it effectively retells the original game's story but with better gameplay and better art. I actually think I like it just as much, maybe more than Super, it's so good! npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…05fn Layered defenses: Layer 1: Brave Shields Layer 2: Host-level DNS filtering (wherever possible) Layer 3: Hardware-level DNS filtering The only place I see ads are on relatives' devices, as they don't use any of those. Politically, the jury's still out :guilded_lul: npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…05fn One of these days, I plan to really sit down and just emulate loads of Saturn games. I kinda want to wait until I get myself a Retro-Bit Saturn controller though, I want as close to the original experience as I can affordably get :odysee_thinking: npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…05fn I seriously need to play more of that series. I've only played VF2 on the Genesis lol npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…4d45 Still my least favorite part of that game. Wall jumping SUCKS, I don't know why games pushed that so hard over the years. :terry_nono: npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…05fn I never played the others but Amped was incredible! Being able to scream downhill to your favorite songs was an experience like no other :beavisandbutthead: npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…kqnv I suppose "under the radar" wasn't the right term. I just mean that I remember how most people wanted the PS3/360, while I only wanted a Wii. Maybe it was because I was always a PC gamer but I just felt like the PS3/360 didn't offer much compared to the Wii, which had an extremely unique game library. npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…05fn So, let me get this straight... Jerry tells people to shut off open registrations on your Mastodon instance, refuses to elaborate on why, and when you reply with a meme, he blocks you? Good grief, the sensitivity of these people :odysee_laughing: npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…kqnv The Wii is an amazing console, I hate how it flew under the radar so much, at least outside of the Nintendo fanbase. It tried some really ambitious things and was just a great party console! npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…4d45 Very nice, you have restraint I definitely lack :guilded_lul: Super Metroid is amazing! I have my gripes with certain parts of it but overall, it's a phenomenal game, up there with Zero Mission for me :Metroid: npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…sfh0 A+ translation :guilded_lul: Never heard of this one, I'll have to check it out! npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…kqnv Yeah, I'm definitely more of the first myself, I just like to take life at a pace where I can appreciate things :loz: npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…05fn Finally getting that home base set up, nice! :gabsalute: npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: My life in a nutshell. I'm also thinking about making a retro computing Raspberry Pi project at some point, since it'd be a bit more affordable than hunting down a bunch of era-appropriate hardware haha npub1478fd2xpn87u9lmyuhn7fhpst6ewtah9wk4exjm9ray9s9v3h5ps2xk4fw Jakob Fel :spinningdisc: @nprofile…20l0 Protoweb is incredible!
