'Banks are constrained by their cash flows moderated by the market share they have in bank accounts..'
A bank is also a business entity that has income and expenses, but these play no role in granting a NEW loan. Instead, the bank simply extends its own balance sheet on both the liability and asset sides. On the asset side are the loan agreement and the collateralized property, and on the liability side, the bank creates new money - out of thin air.

I'm not an MMT guy. I've read texts/books of them many years ago and they make many good points. They're broadly correct about how our monetary system functions but they forget one important point. Property. Banks can create money at any time by issuing a new loan - out of thin air. Yes, that’s true, BUT to do so, they need their own capital and, above all, the borrower’s collateral. A borrower pledges their title to the property so that the bank can grant them a loan.

'banks could lose a large share of the cheap deposits they rely on to make loans, which would be a problem for the entire financial system.'
NO! They don't.
Chief economists at Apollo, Schieritz studied economics and both don't know that banks don't use deposits to make loans.
This is the world we're living in. Everything is so stupid and dumb. Fuck me.

(credere = glauben)

I really don't see how this can be slowly and you still had the problem that 10%-30% of the whole workforce loses their job at the SAME time..

Yes, of course. That was already clear when the book came out and was hyped by everyone. It was intended to convince liberal centrists that endless growth is the only possible path because it is the only possible path for capital.
This will probably lead to the collapse of civilization and billions of deaths, but the super-rich and powerful don't care about that.
This isn't complicated. It's pure propaganda for Western liberal elites.

As a German. No one. Sure, we learn a lot about 1933-1945 in school, but first it isn't enough to fully grasp what was going on and other parts of the German history are left out/ taught less. Like colonialism, World War 1, Genocide against the Herero and Nama.

'Fisher identified this cycle as a key cause of severe economic depressions, where the more debtors try to pay, the more they effectively owe'

THIS is not normal.

Nun gut, viel Spekulation, mal abwarten :)

Jein.

Game Over. Das Debt Deflation Monster erwacht..

No, because you're just wrong. Capitalist which too much debt go broke and they lose all the underlying property with which they got the loan in the first place.
The bank takes a huge loss because of the unpaid debt. A bank taking loss after loss can also go bankrupt.

Thanks for the honest answer. It tells me that you have no clue about modern banking and how it can't function just with Bitcoins. What do you do in a debt deflation crisis? There billions of payments that need to be paid, but God damn, there isn't enough Bitcoin to.make the payments. Your system is crises mode forever, no society, no economy, no goods and services to pay for..

We have to end capitalism but you and Bitcoin have nothing to offer to achieve it. A society is greater than its monetary system, you know. Billions of people who have no fucking clue what you're talking about and never will.
