Spark calls itself self-custodial. That word rests on one feature: the unilateral exit, getting your Bitcoin out with no help from the operators. So I checked whether it actually works when you'd need it.
It's conditional. The exit only works if you already hold current exit data, and you can only fetch that while the operators cooperate. A freeze is them refusing to cooperate, so the event that stops your payments also stops you collecting what you'd need to leave.
And even then it's messy: @nprofile…a978 's July test held 100,000 sats across 22 leaves, exit txs pre-signed at zero fee, funded with separate on-chain Bitcoin. Better than a custodial wallet, but real self-custody is permissionless. Spark is custody with a fire escape you have to build before the fire.

A customer asked if @nprofile…kqrk works with FluentCart on WordPress. It didn't, so we built the integration and open sourced it.
BTCPay for FluentCart is live:

I guess it depends to which wallet it is connecting to.

Yes I'm aware, I was not using Nostr for a while. And starter using Wisp and I liked it. Then i created the wallet within the app, that was the trigger for these articles :-) So yes, i will change it

If you have a Lightning address in your Nostr profile, this concerns you directly.
There is a good chance that address resolves through Spark, a Bitcoin Layer 2 run by two companies, Lightspark and Flashnet. Wallet of Satoshi runs on it. Cake Wallet runs on it. The Breez SDK defaults to it. Every transfer on Spark is co-signed, and therefore seen, by the operators. Users were never told, and that is presented as a feature.
Your funds are safe. The custody design is genuinely good. But custody and privacy are different things, and here is the part that matters on Nostr: your npub is public, your Lightning address is in your profile, and the operator sees every payment behind that address. Link the two and a pseudonym becomes a named person with a queryable payment history. SparkStalker already demonstrated this works. And unlike Lightning proper, where the data to subpoena never existed, Spark's operators are named, regulated companies that can be compelled to hand over what they see.
It does not stop at Spark users. Lightning privacy is a crowd effect. Every wallet that moves behind Spark's operator thins the crowd for everyone else, including people running their own nodes. Zap someone on Wallet of Satoshi and the operator records it, whether you ever agreed to Spark or not.
I wrote three articles on this. What Spark is and who runs it. Why a public identity turns its metadata into a warrant target. And why "then don't use it" misses the argument.

I just released the first version of a new LNbits Wordpress Donation plugin (https://github.com/lnbits/wp-donate-lnbits). Receiving bitcoin donations on your Wordpress site has become native and more easy.
The plugin supports the #value4value mindset. Donors can leave a message that can be published on the website as well. A live demo can be found on the Dutch website of @npub1fye…3djs : https://bitcoinfocus.nl/doneer/
The plugin is not yet published within the Wordpress Plugin directory so it needs to be installed from the release https://github.com/lnbits/wp-donate-lnbits/releases/tag/0.1 #LNbits #WordPress #Bitcoin

While doing some research on making LN Address available on the domains of customers of @npub1lhu…t08x I came to the conclusion it's quite easy to do so in general. If you run a Wordpress site you can do it easily with a WoS address for example.
1. Install a redirect plugin, for example wordpress.org/plugins/simple…
2. Setup a redirect as on the image below.
You can receive now sats on lightning address: pay@<your domain>.com which redirect directly to the #walletofsatoshi lightning address of @npub1lhu…t08x (lncheckout)
If you have your own domain and you can fix the redirect in another way, you can do it without wordpress as well.

Cool to see my service https://lnshort.it got some traction after the mentions here on nostr. It was build long time ago as a demo project to get some experience with the development of lightning apps. Had already planned to sunset it, but will keep it running for at least another year based on usage. Same applies for my splliting bill service https://goingdutch.pm

As the creator, it's cool to see https://lnshort.it get some use now with nostr. Need a shorter url, check lnshort.it.
See for example the shortening of habla.news urls: https://lnshort.it/lurusan
https://lnshort.it/nostr-welcome
