I wonder if back in the early days of #Unix-like OSs, there was opposition to the concept of a package manager.
I can hear the debates echoing in my head already:
"Package management makes users lazy and less likely to check and audit what they're actually installing. Especially if you end up automatically resolving dependencies and blindly applying updates!"

It's been said a lot that tech people tend to think that every problem can be solved with a tech solution, and that that is often a wrong approach that ignores social dynamics and systemic causes.
That's true, but I can think of at least one problem here on the Fediverse that really, really needs a tech solution!
That being hashtags.
The whole point of hashtags is that you can tag your content with concepts it relates to, so that others who are interested in said concepts can discover your content.
Ideally, a hashtag should therefore contain all posts relating to the concept, and should not contain any posts unrelated to the concept. This is not the case.
The problem is that hashtags are plain text only. This causes two kinds of issues:
False positives: One hashtag is used for multiple separate concepts, grouping unrelated concepts together.
False negatives: Multiple hashtags are used for the same concept, meaning you might miss posts of a concept you want to see.
Common examples for false positives are homonyms (seating bank vs. financial bank, video games vs. board games), abbreviations (CNC, BBC, MTF), and multilingual issues (German handy vs. English handy).
False negatives are much, much more common, even. You're missing out on synonyms (horses vs. equines), grammatical and regional variations (colouring vs. coloring, horse vs. horses) and scope issues (gaming vs. games vs. video games) at least. Also, the whole thing about 'dogsOfMastodon' versus 'dogs'.
If you add to it that the Fediverse is multi-lingual, this is getting exponentially worse. If a German account posts about dogs using the hashtag 'Hund' (or Hunde, Hundes, Hunds, Hundi, Wauwau, Köter, Welpe, Welpen...), someone subscribed to the English hashtag 'dogs' should probably also see that post.
Rather than plain text which has all of these issues, a hashtag should therefore point at an individual unique ID of a concept, unique and unambiguous across all languages and grammatical forms.
Someone should be able to subscribe to the concept of a horse – the equine animal – and not just the letters 'horse' in that order!
That might sound daunting – who has a database of all concepts in the world? – but structured data actually is a super old problem that has been talked about for ages! The semantic web has it figured out.
Wikidata is an open data source for unique concepts, doing exactly what we'd need. Obviously it's easier said than done, but 'all' that the Fediverse needs to do is replace or extend hashtags with a system that allows you to link a Wikidata concept by UUID. And figure out what to do with things that don't have such a UUID yet, and how to handle UX. But it would be a vast improvement over plain-text hashtags.
I don't really want this post to just die in the ether, tbh, as posts are wont to do. I'd like to actually make this a thing. Is there anyone out there who knows what an implementation of this would take? I'd love to help (computational linguist).

One aspect of #disability #accessibility that I feel is criminally overlooked is being mindful of #schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders.
Please, please don't joke around with common psychotic triggers, at least without a clear content warning on it. It's not funny.
Examples?
Any absurdist shitposting that implies common psychotic narratives (stalking, shadow people, cryptids, paranoia, mind control, fake reality etc.), especially if deliberately directed at the reader!
Even worse if it's trying to use a meta level to 'convince' the reader that they can't trust their senses or logic! It's not funny. You're attacking someone's only coping mechanism to ground themselves right after triggering them.
The whole "they're in my walls" meme, for instance. Or the "the curse is now lifted/back" one. Or the one that insinuates someone is trapped in a coma and people are trying to send messages via these memes to wake them up or whatever.
Or that #Fediverse joke that inserts someone's name or instance into a post (i. e. "anyone else see John Doe around everywhere lately??", where John Doe is automatically changed to the reader's name by exploiting the protocol), is just as bad.
All of these can and will actually hospitalise people, or worse!!
Psychosis is not a super rare condition. I myself experienced an isolated psychotic episode a couple of years ago after a #THC overdose.

Okay #AskFedi does anyone have any text-based beginner resources on how to get started with turning a software manual that I have as a digital file into a fully bound book by hand?
Like, I imagine I'm going to prepare the text by using a word processor to properly layout the digital file, then I'm going to print it, and then I'm going to somehow do some folding and cutting magic to wrangle the printed A4 pages into something in the proper format, and then I'm going to use some arcane magicka to properly connect the pages and create a cover.
Resources about any step in the process appreciated, e. g. layouting, zinemaking, book binding, et cetera.

I'm increasingly worried about the vetting process of applications uploaded to #FDroid.
There appears to be no anti-AI policy for the F-Droid repository, and there's a ton of obviously machine-generated apps clogging up the recent apps feed. That includes sensitive categories like password managing, health data, diaries, personal to-do lists, contacts, galleries, file-sharing and such.
Of course, being human-made is no guarantee or even an indicator that something is safe. And any app regardless of what it appears to do has the potential to be malicious.
But it does feel like previously, the barrier of entry to app (and malware) development was high enough to dissuade random script-kiddies without any skills from trying a fast one on a whim. But nowadays, they could easily 'vibe-code' a crappy, hardly functional, but malicious 'password manager' and upload it to F-Droid, no?
What does the approval process for F-Droid actually look like? Are the repositories actually audited thoroughly before an app is approved? Is it an automated system based on easy anti-feature indicators like binary content, URLs, library imports and permission requests?

seriously though, it makes me a bit sad.
like, i recognise the importance of safety tools like blocking and muting and defederating and stuff. but isn't it a bit depressing that a single post that might be slightly annoying or off for a moment can lead to someone just cutting contact for your entire lives, never encountering you again ever, no matter how much you or they might have changed or how indicative that one interaction was of the whole person behind it?
of course nobody owes anyone else their attention or their contact, but it feels somewhat dystopian, doesn't it, to treat entire people as disposable like that.
i mean, i'm not different there at all either, I often catch myself using the block/mute/unfollow button when I encounter something that just mildly annoys me. perhaps if i had been in a different headspace at that moment, I could have become best friends with them down the line. who knows how many partners, friends or just interesting interactions I missed out on because of this. I definitely blocked people who didn't really do anything wrong; and because I did, I will never encounter them or anything they do or say again. That's heartbreaking.
Like, we all occasionally have difficult times where we perhaps say something we don't really mean, or sometimes we just have weird takes, or sometimes we're just in a bad mood. And the longer your online presence exists, the amount of people who have cut contact with you and who will never see you again just... increases without ever going down.
Who knows who blocked me like 3 years ago because I had a mildly annoying opinion, who could have become a really good friend? Or a partner? It's so weird.
Imagine if I could block real life people as easily as I could online. I would probably never have had a relationship for longer than a month or two, because any mild disagreement or argument could just result in a lifelong loss of contact.

Okay, big #SemanticWeb yearning rant incoming because I'm once again sad about technology. :blush:
I am still dreaming of an alternative internet that is fundamentally built on and for machine-readable, structured, semantic data instead of natural language.
Humanity uses this MASSIVE network of data processing machines – computers, phones, servers etc. – every single day to do basically everything. There is an unfathomably large amount of information out there.
But it's nearly all encoded as text, as natural human language, instead of machine-readable data. Website content, contact information, times and dates, contacts, data, posts, profile fields, emotions, birthdays, genders, it's all text! It's all just text fields.
There's really cool initiatives out there that aim to crowdsource structured data so machines can do cool things with all our human knowledge. Like #Wikidata, #OpenStreetMap, #MusicBrainz and so on.
And guess what – these projects, despite being relatively small compared to the world wide web as a whole, already enable incredibly cool things to happen, like navigation, auto-tagging of music, recommending similar artists to artists you like, and so on.

I'm learning a bit about #networking right now.
Can someone explain to me why exactly the #Matrix folks chose to build their client/server and server/server protocols on top of #HTTP instead of writing their own protocol on top of a lower layer network protocol like TCP/IP or UDP?
The FAQ mentions that they chose HTTP because it's a common, widespread and well understood baseline. But since you still need to write software specifically adapted to the Matrix protocol anyway, isn't it kind of irrelevant that a lot of other applications use HTTP? It doesn't really explain why they even needed to 'ride' an existing application layer protocol rather than developing their own.
After all, whoever wants to develop a Matrix client or Matrix server software needs to specifically implement the Matrix protocols anyway, so it's not like you can just use an existing "HTTP client" or whatever to use Matrix. Would it really make it so much more difficult to develop client or server software if they had to implement an application layer protocol rather than piggybacking on HTTP?
I'm wondering mostly because HTTP, being a hypertext-focused protocol designed originally to exchange static hypertext documents, doesn't seem like the ideal first choice for a real time communication system, other than that it is popular I guess. It seems like it'd require quite a lot of wrangling HTTP into a shape it was never meant to adapt rather than writing your own protocol. It kinda sounds like trying to create a video file format on top of JSON because a lot of people know how to use JSON.
If I designed my own messaging protocol, my first intuitive choice would be to write specifications on top of, say, TCP/IP that my client and server software would understand. Would that hypothetical course of action be a mistake?

After Bluesky, Threads, and so on, the whole #WSocial thing is another reminder that it was never about the #Fediverse being "too complicated" or "just for nerds".
A bafflingly large amount of people genuinely only act on a gut feeling telling them that only commercial products with fancy marketing owned by a for-profit corporation can be trustworthy, 'official' and 'legal', for the lack of a better word.
If something is a commercial offering by a competent-looking, rich family man in a suit, it's clearly an official, legal, trustworthy product. You can be proud of using such a fancy-looking service.
When they see a community-run open-source project or a grassroots initiative, their first instinct is that it must be shady, illegal, complicated, broken or predatory in some way. It's probably some aftermarket grey area bootleg made by weird tech nerds, political groups with an ulterior motive, conspiracy theorists or some naive teenage hackers. They'd also be embarrassed for using it in front of their peers and neighbours; who uses some free back-alley software, are you poor or something?
The same people are the reason why Google is using the word 'sideloading', why scammers love wearing fancy suits, why people suddenly act childishly helpless in front of LibreOffice, or why DIY HRT is so demonised.
They trust any kind of 'official approval' over their own senses. If someone does something that isn't 'approved', they're a bad person or clearly endangering themselves and others. No idea why exactly, but psh, it must be wrong somehow, or everyone would do it, right?
If people on the Fediverse understood that the whole "it's all so complicated and clunky" thing is just a thinly veiled excuse for a general disdain for non-commercial software, we could finally stop making all our software imitate their corporate equivalents in a futile attempt to appease people who never gave us a chance in the first place.
You'll never convince them to treat it in good faith no matter how much effort or money you put into UX or 'ease of use'. All you're doing is making the software worse, e. g. through things like dot-social, verified accounts or begging brands, corporations and politicians to join and give your product some kind of 'official' validation.

This being Fedi, I know there will be someone reading this who is a chronically depressed, poly disaster transfem always narrowly avoiding poverty by being a somewhat-but-not-really successful self-employed freelance web developer, who has strong opinions about the modern web, free software, the semantic web and structured data, and who kind-of-but-not-really mourns what XHTML could have been while actually thinking HTML5 as written is kinda neat, but who is constantly forced by Society (tm) to work with React, Wordpress and awful bloated web app frameworks to create terrible, non-semantic style-first web applications for ungrateful clients.
I can't guarantee anything but let's say, I know someone who needs a static website for their business. Hypothetically, uh, where could that someone reach out to you? Paid, of course.

Most clueless cis people I met sure weren't very sensible about word choices and reading the room ("so i was wondering, ehh, are you a boy or a girl??"), but once you gave them an answer to whatever they were wondering, they just would shrug, accept it and move on with our activity at hand.
They'd then include me in gendered activities and spaces without any awkwardness or second thoughts at all, they'd be super relaxed about it, they'd clearly just take my gender as truth, and they'd get irate on my behalf if people misgendered or excluded me because they were genuinely baffled why people would mistreat me that way. It was as natural to them as anything else that I was a woman, it didn't even occur to them that it could be "wrong".
It took my middle-aged, cranky, Yugoslavian coworker who never heard of trans people exactly two days to completely understand my womanhood. When I eventually talked to her about the whole thing, she was surprised I brought it up, but said something that stuck to me ever since:
That she met a lot of unique and surprising people in her life, and that you learn things about the world and other people every day. And that it was just an interesting medical fun fact about me. And that's all. She said that to her, it was no different than when she met a black guy in our village and then found out he and his family are actually natively German. She compared me to her grandma, who apparently had a lot of facial hair, which ran in her family. It was just a fun fact about me that I'm trans, nothing more.
The validity of my womanhood was never in question to her, just whether I was a woman at all. That's the main thing really.
You really hit the nail on the head: transphobes really, really want to make us think that we're alone. That everyone naturally sees us as freaks by default, except those we have successfully 'convinced of our ideology'.
It's actually the same mechanic at play as with conspiracy types, crazy conservatives or elderly people refusing to go with the times.
They want to use "common sense" as a backup to try to convince you that their irrational fears are actually normal and how everyone else thinks. They're super afraid of having to change their world view, of being wrong about something. They want to make us feel like we have no support, not necessarily to hurt us directly, but because they themselves secretly feel ashamed and insecure about the world moving past them or judging them for something they don't understand. (Ideological transphobes who know what they're doing nonwithstanding, they're doing it on purpose).
That's also why allies can sometimes be insidiously worse than clueless folks. Allies might just as well have the same thought patterns as transphobes, but end the thought process on "...but it would be mean to misgender them, I should be nice and supportive."
They still fundamentally think we're freaks, they just think it's ethically good to be nice to freaks.
Before my coworker experience, I always felt that even if cis people accept us, they at best mentally create a third category: women, men and "trans". Or that they'd always see me as a guy who wants to be a woman and who they needed to be respectful of not to hurt their feelings. But that isn't the case. They just see me as a woman with a medical history.
Transphobes are the only ones questioning people's genders' validity. Normal people don't even have that thought process, because validity isn't an idea they associate with gender.

i worked on a little DIY project today!
using fabric from old damaged jeans and a crappy flannel shirt i never liked anyway, i crafted bunny ears for my lil hat! :)
they're stuffed with cotton pads i usually use for makeup removal. they're hand-sewn with needle and yarn! and i used some old chains and safety pins to decorate it :3
i think this is really cute and turned out well! :)

It frustrates me to no end that the old socialist saying "We don't want a larger piece of the cake, we want the whole damn bakery" is so commonly misinterpreted as a simple analogy for quantity, i. e. "we demand a lot more than you think".
The 'bakery' isn't a stand-in for 'significantly more than a cake', it's the whole damn point that we demand not a larger share of profits but the actual economic capital, i. e. the production facility, i. e. the means of production.
So many people and groups use the saying when their entire platform is 'more social justice and higher wages please'.

Close to where I live here in Germany, there's a hiking trail called "Pfad für Genießer", which translates to "trail for connoisseurs".
At regular intervals along the trail, you'll find these big wooden signs that showcase various native plants growing around the very spot you're standing in. And then – most importantly – a recipe you could cook using any of these ingredients! :)
That's really cool, is it not? Every station unlocks a new meal made from regional ingredients.

I think the only reason I've never switched from #Minecraft to #Minetest (I think it's called something like #Luanti now?) is how confusing the concept still is to me.
This is what I understand:
Its 'base game' is incredibly barebones to the point where it's basically just an engine. To play an actual game that begins to get close to the complexity of Minecraft, you'll need to install mods. There's a big mod attempting to recreate Minecraft called Mineclone. So far, so good.
What I don't understand is the following:
I don't just want to play Mineclone. But if the base game is so barebones, and the base game doesn't set any standards for how a vast majority of a playable game should be implemented, how is anything more complex possible?
Don't we then constantly run into issues where different mods attempt to implement the same basic gameplay systems, which then clash with each other? Similarly to all the slightly-different-but-incompatible copper ores Minecraft modpacks used to struggle with?
Like, the base game doesn't even have animals, enchanting, sprinting, 'redstone', dimensions, or a hunger bar IIRC. Or anything of substance.
Do I need to install food mods on top of Mineclone so they interface with its hunger system? Does every food mod implement their own competing hunger system in a giant mish-mash of incompatibilities? Does food work without Mineclone? Are food effects balanced among most popular mods?
How do tool mods work if the 'base game' doesn't have enchantments? Are they automatically compatible with whatever mod adds enchantments? Are modded tools sometimes just not enchantable? Is it a Mineclone thing only? Would different enchanting systems clash?
If there's no 'redstone' by default, how do machines work? And so on.
I tried reading through mod descriptions, but most don't mention anything about compatibility or what you need to or mustn't install.

It seems like common knowledge to say that the "Linux desktop" has come a long way from its beginnings, and that while it used to feature quite a horrendous and complex user experience that was really "only for nerds", it's now - thanks to decades of volunteer improvements - finally on par with the user experience of commercial software.
Nowadays, even non-"computer people" can set up and use a Linux system, while in the past, you couldn't even get through the installation without a PhD in compsci.
That's what people keep saying.
But honestly, after having gone through a Windows XP installation right after a Red Had Linux 8.1 installation, I am not sure about this at all anymore??
Even with both being year-2001 systems, Red Hat was considerably easier to set up and overall more user friendly.
Both feature graphical installers in plain English, accessibility options, language and locale selections from the very beginning.
Windows however confused me with "workgroups" and "domains", which I didn't know what to do with for a personal PC. Scroll bars were unresponsive. It also took way longer to install.
Red Hat didn't have any of these issues, and even allowed me to choose a bunch of thematically ordered software to pre-install, all in a big menu with icons and explanations, which was nice.
Why did people think back then that Windows was more "normal people friendly" than Linux? It's utter nonsense.

Ich hab mal eine blöde Frage an die Deutschen hier:
Ich habe mich seinerzeit 2020 gegen #Corona impfen lassen. Danach habe ich keine Booster o. Ä. in Anspruch genommen, bis heute.
Ich gehe mal davon aus, dass der Schutz jetzt mittlerweile gen null geht - sowohl weil das schon so lang her ist, als auch weil es ja mittlerweile unfassbar viele neue Varianten und Entwicklungen seitdem gegeben hat.
Was müsste ich denn jetzt machen? Impfzentren gibt's ja nicht mehr an jeder Ecke. Macht das der Hausarzt? Nach was sollte ich fragen - ein Booster oder eine Neuimpfung? Was ist da der aktuelle Stand?
Ich würde ja direkt meinen Hausarzt fragen, aber bei dem sind die normalen Termine (also nicht Notfallsprechstunden) immer so weit in der Zukunft.

I have this ongoing theory that the very same people who find the #Fediverse "confusing", "user unfriendly" and "too complicated" would magically somehow have no issue whatsoever with navigating it if there was a shiny Meta, Google or Microsoft logo on it.
Most of them didn't even look at it. They had decided their preconceived notions from the very start when they learned it was free, open-source and community-run.
The amount of unbelievable nonsense they put up with Google/Apple/Microsoft software most every day says otherwise.
I think as long as there's a nice billionaire in a suit, the faceless void of a corporation name and a lot of money involved, paradoxically this triggers a 'trustworthy' and 'for normal people' response in them.

I know that it's equally bad to portray neurodivergencies such as autism or ADHD as "superpowers" as it is to portray them as disabilities of eternal suffering.
Honestly though, for all the hardships my #ADHD causes me, I also just love that it's a part of me.
There's no better feeling than feeling yourself slowly slipping into a new special interest that will keep you occupied for a few months, perhaps leading to new friends, new hobbies, new knowledge or even major life events. And even though the interest will most likely be temporary, parts of it will stick with me forever!

Dumb question that I was always too afraid to ask:
I know how the #Fediverse and its federation works. It's intuitive and familiar to me; I mean, I even host my own instance.
But I never understood how interaction cross-software is supposed to work. In theory, I can use whatever #ActivityPub software I want and still interact with everyone else. But in practice that just... isn't the case, right?
I mean, for text it's quite simple: I write a short post on #Mastodon and people on #GoToSocial or #Misskey or whatever can see and read that same post and interact with it. They can see my profile and it appears on their instance in their style and with their features.
Even outside of microblogging I still get it. A super-long post on #Friendica or #Diaspora appears on my timeline, too. Their profiles might have more fields than I can see here, but that's fine.
But what's up beyond that?
I can see #Pixelfed posts here, converted into image galleries. But what about the other way 'round? If someone on Pixelfed follows my Mastodon account, they can't see any of my non-image posts, right?
What about #PeerTube and such niche software? I guess I could follow a PeerTube account as a microblogger and see their videos and descriptions in my timeline. Video comments are replies.
But the other way 'round? How are they supposed to interact with Friendica or Pixelfed users? PeerTube doesn't even have a "timeline".
Doesn't that feature disparity undermine the whole idea of the #Fediverse or am I missing something?

That exact same logic goes elsewhere too:

"Laws against child abuse are actually bad, because it'll hit us when they define being queer as child abuse..."
...or...

And so on.
Y'all, we can still support the removal of misogynist pro-rape video games even if they might abuse the tools against us later.
It's the definition of queerness as pornographic that's the problem we should continue focusing on, not the fight against sexual exploitation just because it can be abused to hurt us.
In the same way that antisemitism accusations are often wielded as a weapon against pro-Palestinian activism, and yet we still shouldn't be against combatting real antisemitism. It's not that hard to draw lines in correct places.

Weil ich amtlich 'divers' und seit Jahren auf einer Hormonersatztherapie bin, wussten die Leute bei der Blutspende erstmal nichts mit mir anzufangen.
Die haben sich aber jedenfalls an meiner statt über die veralteten Systeme und Protokolle aufgeregt – die ganzen Computer waren noch auf Windows XP oder noch älter, und die Software hatte halt nur 'männlich' und 'weiblich' als Optionen.
Am Ende haben sie sich darauf geeinigt, dass ich wegen meiner Langzeit-Hormontherapie tendenziell eher 'biologisch weiblich' als 'biologisch männlich' sei, und dass sie mich einfach als weiblich führen würden.
[Das fand' ich ein bisschen lustig. Ich kann mir nur vorstellen, wie transphobe Leute darauf reagieren würden, dass ich von medizinischem Fachpersonal als biologisch/körperlich weiblich eingestuft wurde.]
Die Hormontherapie war übrigens auch absolut kein Problem. Ich hatte ursprünglich sogar die 'Transsexualität' als Vorerkrankung eingetragen, weil es ja eine Diagnose war, aber da hat mir der Arzt gesagt, das solle ich nicht machen, weil trans zu sein keine Krankheit sondern einfach ein Zustand sei. Fand ich süß.
ADHS-Medikamente
Das Lisdexamfetamin (Elvanse) war ebenfalls absolut kein Problem. Die haben sich viel eher für blutverändernde Medikamente wie z. B. Blutverdünner und für sowas wie illegale Drogen interessiert.
Die wollen Risiken minimieren; Leute die illegale Drogen nehmen haben im Vergleich zu Rezeptpatient:innen halt tendenziell ein größeres Risiko, unsaubere Spritzen zu verwenden, oder auch einfach unbekannte oder gefährliche Substanzen genommen zu haben, wenn z. B. deren Drogen gestreckt wurden.
Dasselbe mit Sexualität: seit 2023 fragen die nicht mehr nach der Orientierung. Ich 'durfte' bis zu zwei Sexualpartner:innen in den letzten vier Monaten gehabt haben (oder bis zu einer/einem im Bereich Analverkehr), und das war es eigentlich. Es wurden keine Fragen zur Orientierung gestellt.

Just spotted a "Fuck Antifa" sticker on a streetlight. Wanted to put an antifa sticker over it, but there was a young family behind me on the pavement so I wanted to let them pass first.
Just as they passed me and the pole, the dad stopped and pulled off the sticker himself. He taught his daughter how to safely remove nazi stickers.
I laughed and told them that I was just waiting for them to pass to put my own on top. Small funny moment of solidarity.

🇩🇪 Ich kann nur immer und immer wieder darauf hinweisen: der Bund, die Länder, Städte und Organisationen haben so viele unglaublich gute Angebote und Informationsquellen, die einfach über 99% der Leute nicht kennen oder sie nicht interessieren.
Ich weiß, das klingt nicht sonderlich cool und eher nach so einem Boomer-Take, aber im Ernst lasst euch mal kurz drauf ein.
Ich bin grundsätzlich natürlich autoritäts-skeptisch eingestellt und find den deutschen Staat an sich nicht geil. #ACAB und so. Es gibt aber gerade in solchen Fach- und Lokalverwaltungen und auf irgendeiner Landesebene, die mit dem Repressionsapparat kaum was zu tun haben, so viel Gutes, was einfach auch aus Steuergeldern bezahlt wird und öffentlich zugänglich ist.
Alleine was Notfallvorsorge und Katastrophenschutz angeht: klingt erstmal langweilig und als ob das mich nie im Leben juckt oder betrifft. Aber Leute, die Hochwasser sind immer häufiger und die waren literally gerade eben erst hier. Mit Klimawandel oder Kriegsgefahr wird das immer noch schlimmer.
Was sollte ich zuhause immer an Essen, Trinken und Medikamenten da haben? Nicht alle haben das von den Eltern mitbekommen können. Was mach ich damit ich ne Woche klarkomme wenn mal Mobilfunknetz und Strom ausfällt? Einfach nen Notfallrucksack hinstellen, den ich greifen kann wenn's brennt – aber was sollte da drin sein? Wie weiß der Rettungsdienst, wenn ich bewusstlos bin, welche Krankheiten, Allergien oder Medis bei mir vorliegen?
Gibt es alles kostenlos vom Bund, auch in leichter Sprache! Den ganzen Scheiß gibts halt auch sogar einfach kostenlos als Büchlein zu dir nach Hause zu bestellen. Ohne Fragen, ohne Versandkosten.

Davon ab: in unserer Stadtbibliothek gibt's zum Beispiel drei kostenlose Comics am 10. Mai, einfach wenn du hingehst – also geschenkt, nicht ausgeliehen. Wenn du im #Cosplay kommst, sogar fünf. Einfach so.
Kinder und Jugendliche, die einsam, queer oder neurodivergent sind? Gibt ehrenamtliche Mentorinnen, die einem helfen können, wieder klarzukommen oder zur Schule mitkommen. Klar, auch da gibts viel abusive Müll, aber im Zweifelsfall gibts da auch von anderen Betroffenen organisierte Gruppen. Guckt mal zum Beispiel bei euren lokalen Falken.
Unsere lokale #ADHS-Selbsthilfegruppe kann mir einfach so kostenlos helfen, Bewerbungen zu schreiben oder mit so Papierkram hinterherzukommen, den ich sonst nicht schaff. Bei unserer #Uni gibt es kostenlose Outdoor-Fitnessgeräte. Es gibt Fahrdienste von den Johannitern, die mich durch die Gegend karren, wenn ich wegen meiner Behinderungen oder wegen des Alters nicht mehr sonst zum Arzt oder zum Einkaufen komme.
Leute, geht vor die Tür und guckt einfach mal auch bei solchen "Aktionswochen" der Stadt und so, auch wenn das erst mal voll dumm klingt und man sonst einfach dran vorbeigeht. Es gibt echt krasse kostenlose Angebote.
Im Zweifelsfall einfach mit 'ner Suchmaschine nach gucken. Es gibt viel Hilfe.

@nprofile…nhea Da geb ich der Polizei ausnahmsweise mal völlig recht.
Der CSD ist sowieso schon seit Ewigkeiten viel zu angepasst und nur noch eine peinliche Party, bei der man den Eindruck kriegt, bei queeren Leuten ginge es wirklich nur um Flamingos, Sex, Crossdressing und affektiertes Rumgekicher.
Das hat mit meiner Lebensrealität und der meiner Bekannten absolut nichts zu tun.
