@nprofile…gu7x You were lucky. A chirping cricket means there are no predators in the bush.

RF is all around us. A large group of people concentrated, a crowd for instance, generates a tremendous amount of heat, human RF and electricity. Add, noise (sound), power circuitry, wifi, 4G etc creates the soul sapping environment that is what we call, a mall. IT IS DRAINING. Geologically significant locations, due to their material composition can create an electromagnetic resonance that, while being “natural” adds to comfortable and possibly severely uncomfortable EMF.

Argh’ness. I’ve repaired quite a few power supplies, new and vintage, and I still have PTSD from the one where the fuse (so designed) popped. Something about that cracking sound. It’s not my profession, so the longest gap between actually needing to plug it in was like 6-months 🙄, but it was fine 🙌🏻! #vintagecomputing #electronics #apple #macintosh

Ever wondered how some folks have interesting emojis in their titles, posts and descriptions? They’re custom emojis that the admin/s of your mastodon instance have installed. You can see what emojis your instance supports at https://emojos.in . #emojis #customemojis #mastodon

@npub13le…6saf thanks for the history. These are so flipping cool. I have a project that I’ve wanted to do for like 20 years. How good are these at reproducing cmyk color?

@npub1nsq…23w7 are they for Fujitsu manufactured? This was the model I had. 230MB. Either Sony or Fujitsu manufactured them. I believe they co developed the tech.

@npub1nsq…23w7 oh nice! I’ve been looking out for one, but first I need a SCSI external. Had the 3.5” FWB HammerDisk PE before and it was cake.

Found this in a bunch of stuff I recently acquired. Brings back good memories. It’s a 3.5” magneto optical disk from the 90s. Magnitudes more reliable than other removable storage technologies with a lifespan of 30 + years. The 5.25” disks hold up to 9.4GB. I’ve only come across SCSI MO drives of these types but I believe Olympus made usb versions of the 3.5”. #retrocomputing #macintosh #opticaldisk #removablemedia

@npub1nsq…23w7 in my Dads studio we never got any Iomega stuff. If was all MO. The small floppy size disks went from 130MB to 230MB and 640MB (as far as I know) and then there were SyQuest size ones holding 2.6GB (double sided 1.3GB) and 5.2GB also double sided. I’ve still got the Sony 5.2GB SCSI drive and a pile of disks. I miss the FWB 230MB.
