Last Notes npub14vhvfg4mc8wr0hrxd4g6eusgfzvplc79cf4r4r6u9cdep7kpajvs269ncx T 🍉 I just listened to Grapes of Wrath as an audiobook too, it was great. npub14vhvfg4mc8wr0hrxd4g6eusgfzvplc79cf4r4r6u9cdep7kpajvs269ncx T 🍉 Oh I love it.❤ Must say also that Of Mice and Men is probably the first book that broke my heart entirely, I remember crying so much reading it. It's such a crushing story. npub14vhvfg4mc8wr0hrxd4g6eusgfzvplc79cf4r4r6u9cdep7kpajvs269ncx T 🍉 Oh I love it.❤ Must say also that Of Mice and Men is probably the first book that broke my heart entirely, I remember crying so much reading it. It's such a crushing story. npub14vhvfg4mc8wr0hrxd4g6eusgfzvplc79cf4r4r6u9cdep7kpajvs269ncx T 🍉 Ah it was the exact same for me! Noticed them in my parents bookshelf around 13-14 years of age and fell for them.❤ I read the Pearl first and then the red pony and there it started. I think Grapes of Wrath and East of Eden have also impacted me a lot. Loved Tortilla flat and Cannery row a lot as well. npub14vhvfg4mc8wr0hrxd4g6eusgfzvplc79cf4r4r6u9cdep7kpajvs269ncx T 🍉 20 books that have had an impact on who you are. One book a day for 20 days. No explanations, no reviews, just book covers (don't forget the alt text). #20books20days 4/20 #bookstodon https://media.jorts.horse/horse-media/media_attachments/files/112/751/290/555/712/335/original/fde1b7b8bf2baa4a.jpg npub14vhvfg4mc8wr0hrxd4g6eusgfzvplc79cf4r4r6u9cdep7kpajvs269ncx T 🍉 And I just feel such deep sadness, anger and frustration. This heat is killing people all over the globe. The petty bourge and rich people just buy their way out of even this with heatpumps, AC and making it worse by escaping the heat by flying somewhere or whatever. And all of this was avoidable! We are all suffering for no good reason. And yet there isn't real outrage, people just accept it. It feels like we are all suffocating. Much like I feel on very hot days like this. npub14vhvfg4mc8wr0hrxd4g6eusgfzvplc79cf4r4r6u9cdep7kpajvs269ncx T 🍉 I am grieving lost summers at the moment. In a Nordic country like this we spend much of the year in darkness and most people just wait for the summer. Personally not so much, but I suspect this is mostly because climate change has ruined summers. I prefer cooler, rainier days and cool summer days where the air is still crisp. You know, the kind that used to be. But now, it's the first day of June and I can't do anything. Outside or inside. It's the weekend and I might as well be at work.
