Actually some days he does not put 'em in at all.

2) "Going to church. The music's too loud anyway."
3) "Never before my shower. They'll drown in there."

And my favorite:
5) "What? Can't hear you!"

The filtration process removes the natural fluoride and the govt-added SODIUM fluoride from the water.
So the bad stuff is filtered out and the GOOD STUFF is added back in. YAY!

It's much better than written English.

FFwd to early 2024: She's mad at DJT for not preventing her from being evicted from her apartment: folks wanted her gone, saying she was cray-zee scary.

The parents ran upstairs to protect their newborn

Well, my MIL was always quite a handful, and her 2 daughters both refused to tend to her in their own homes, because doing so would definitely have irreparably harmed their marriages/families.
We volunteered because she was easier on her son, and an institution could be used as a last resort.
I am glad that you're keeping things in perspective. This is the RIGHT thing to do!
