I'm so sorry for your friend and all other creatives and researchers being ripped off at scale right now.
It's a mess that original and community work is being devalued in this way.
Copying has its place, to share and preserve knowledge, but without provenance we lose important links to the rich history of its original creators.

That's a useful realisation with CFS.
Recovery involves doing a lot of nothing and rest, but also accepting that your overall capacity is reduced.
Plus, neuro spicy people have a tendency to take the 100% effort straight to burnout path and relearning to dial that down is key.

It may be interesting if I could read some without signing up to a mailing list.
My approach to choosing books in shops is to read a sample and then decide whether to borrow or buy the book. I used to love doing that in bookshops and libraries.
I've yet to buy any books from online browsing but I do use it to find out more about authors / book contents.

Feedback: Intriguing image. Clicked link. Saw book covers but no descriptions.
I don't want to sign up for anything new/ go on a mailing list without more incentive, so nope.
Perhaps give readers some exciting teaser book blurb / reviews, so we know what we're getting.
P.s. I've never read your work, so I've really no idea what your books are like

COBOL was my livelihood before web based systems. Years of keeping legacy systems going, like billing systems. Unsexy but reliable.
The only problem was having to move around the country to get the jobs.
I'd consider COBOL again if it was remote work.

So much to learn, including publicity beforehand but still Done is Better than Perfect, so there's at least that.

Should I get a refurbished laptop / mini PC / normal PC, with Win10 and install Linux?

The super rich love exclusive items. That's unlikely to change anytime soon. When artists had the church and royalty as patrons it was the same.
Artists have usually only seen a fraction of the money that dealers, etc make, unless they also became dealers themselves.

Anyone have time management tips?
When I'm on my own at home, I keep getting sidetracked and running out of time and energy to get through my plans.
#Today was going to be the day I went back to the gallery. However, a friend called and t I lost an hour. Then lunch. Another hour. The bus is every 1/2 hour and the gallery closes at 5, so I'm out of time again.
I may do a trip to the local shop later instead, which is good but not the afternoon out I'd planned.
