Thinking about stream overlays, and I know a lot of people use Godot or Unity for theirs and do a window capture w/ compositing
But I was thinking about maybe doing a standalone thing that uses PipeWire DMA-BUF sharing directly into OBS.
It would render on an in-memory only texture, so you wouldn't need any window capture or anything like that, and so could run in the background.
Dunno if that's worth poking at though.

Remember Kids:
Don't gatekeep or harass people about the tools they use!
It's okay to gently offer a suggestion and ask their reasoning for using something, but constantly bugging them to use "X" or making them feel bad for using a thing that works for them is not good!
Let people use the tools that they know, work well with, and work well for them! Don't be an asshole!
But I would like to say, if at all possible, especially in the FOSS space, we should try to guide people away from using things that are built by bigots, abusers, transphobes, etc, those projects don't deserve the support.

Is there a decent tool that can do best-effort guessing for a chunk of machine code?
If i have a ROM file and I have no idea the ISA, I want to take a rough guess at it any hints? Especially as it could be almost anything.

Yeah that's what I did, I ensured they all were on the same profile and were reset and then synced them all with ddcutil.
So now they finally all at least *look* the same, I still need to get a colorimeter to do a proper cal but it's something at least :v

Update on this; So it *is* possible *kinda*
These monitors have stupid "profile" thing that can't be set via a VCP register, while things like the brightness and contrast *are*
So I still need to fuck with the OSD to get them all on the same profile, reset the defaults, then I can mostly adjust the other things via ddcutil and the VCP registers.

As for kwin support for it, huh, https://wayland.app/protocols/wayland-protocols/18 didn't mention any compositors supporting it, maybe because it's not the "final" version, I might need to fuck with some flags or something to enable it.

I don't think so? I'm on 6.4, and chromium supposedly has support for it, but they just didn't talk I guess?
I didn't think Plasma implemented the `xdg-session-management` protocol as it's not been merged yet afaik, but supposedly chromium added support for it 2 months ago, so *shrug* dunno

Yeah, maybe, but the lack of session and window positioning stuff is a non-starter at this point, I kinda need my web browser to be able to remember and restore all it's windows onto the appropriate virtual desktops/monitors, which currently is not really possible :/

With my normal monitors, yes, that was fine, but it's never seen the tablet before, I expected it to just stick it to the rightmost and i'd have to move it, but not for it to re-order literally everything,

The kicker is they were fine *until* I plugged the tablet in *then* it scrambled *all* of them.
As for the tablet stuff, yeah, unsure, I suspect it's partially also the `udev-hid-bpf` auto-loading broke so I had to manually fix that so it would work under X11 again,
The not having a good way to re-map the macropad I could work around, but right now the biggest killer for me not being able to use wayland is the session stuff, I really am just unable to use it until that's in and working.

I have come to the conclusion that Wayland just, still isn't ready (for me, at least), it's been more fiddly and problematic than X11 ever has been for me.
Especially right now trying to get my drawing tablet set up, first of all it scrambled the order of *all* of my monitors, and then after that was sorted, I was able to re-map the input positioning to it's screen, but no matter what I tried the pen buttons *would not* remap to be what they should have been, which made it almost unusable.
Normally i'm a good FOSS steward and will put together bug reports and the like, but i'm just too exhausted from all this fiddling, it's not worth it.
I think i'm going to keep sticking to X11 because at least my shit all works properly there

There we go, a little better, had to evict my VSA from the rack, but the HAPS-80D still lives there for now, and there is a second FC fabric switch in the back of the rack, might need to move the front one to the back and hook them up over the 10Gbps ports so I have enough FC ports for the machines and storage.

Yeah,,,, There are a few pain points in KiCad like that still, i've also recently hit some bugs with the length/skew tuning tools where they have float comparison issues causing DRC to fail, and then they also don't calculate total trace length properly meaning that the numbers need to be manually adjusted and just, so much pain T~T

The schematic editor /still/ doesn't have scripting support, it was planned for 7, got bumped to 8, got bumped to 9, and now who knows 🙃
It could be done externally yeah, but it makes it annoying in the schematic editor itself where you need to note down what sub-sheets are DNP.
It's not a huge deal, just a minor gripe
