Sometimes timing is everything. The #SQLite #Go module update fixing builds on #NetBSD was published two days ago. So now I was able to compile #PocketBase on #tildePink by just updating its dependency.

Naja, die Arbeit wird gerade von Ehrenamtlichen gemacht. Als ITler weißt du, wie viele Gelder du sammeln musst, um eine einzige Person anzustellen. Meine Einschätzung ist, dass Hardware- und Zeitspenden gerade ein gangbarer Weg wären.

The big plus of #DeltaChat is that the infrastructure is already there. Infrastructure is a big part of the problem. And obviously using mail for that is only for people born before 2000.
Second is branding: When people hear #XMPP they hear 20 years of failure of implementing robust solutions both server-side and client-side. People just don't know that after 20 years there now are server and client solutions really working.

Former Mac user here as well. And, yes, it hurts. On a Mac you can do a lot of things using shortcuts that are always the same all the time. Switching to anything different just hurts in that regard.

When you look at the internals of #LibreOffice you see technology and code base of the 90s (it still is Sun‘s StarOffice). It really is not what you would write today.
But it‘s a massive amount of code, that no one would easily replace, it‘s the only serious #FLOSS alternative to MS Office.
And: I use it everyday and could not work without it. So I just have to like it. 😉💖 :libreoffice:

That‘s why I linked the post above. It‘s not about CO2 only. It‘s only a fraction of the problem. Any nuklear power station will heat water as any coal plant, it will kill life in a river like the Rhine just as well.
