Honestly.
If you get into crypto. It’s because you heard of bitcoin
If you look anywhere else besides Bitcoin it’s because you’re looking to gamble or get rich with no effort or proof of work.
If you aren’t researching what you’re putting your money into. I mean. It is what it is

Right. Bitcoin is private. It’s not secret.
But most people don’t even need privacy or secrecy.
It’s just sounds good to say your using monero and your transactions are “private “

So today I stopped by a corner store I used to frequent a couple years ago and saw this.
I immediately ran to the cashier/owner and said does it work.
He told me yea.
I asked him does he accept bitcoin as payment.
He said. No.
I offered to set him up to accept it and to teach him how to protect it for free.
He laughed at me and said nah.
I left his store and bought went on strike and bought more.
I tried.

I think those who love Nostr how it is now.
We have to be very selective on what we reward with our zaps and attention and what now.
If you are “advertising” on Nostr.
Or whatever you wanna call it. Zap-vertising.
You are just turning this into Twitter.
People will throw shit at the wall to see “what works”.
And then mindlessly pump out that same content a million ways.
How about you just create what you want and like?
Post what you’re interested in and organically if people connect with it they’ll support it.

I imagine we want #nostr to grow organically and for the right reasons.
This route you’re talking about is just going to make people “create” for money as oppose to create because they’re creative.

2024-12-28 04:33:11 GMT

They used to call it Twitter. It’s called X now.

2024-12-27 05:13:54 GMT

- reply

Okay.
Let me land…
So if I’m paying you in monero.
I convert btc into monero and send it to you because you only accept monero.
Where is the privacy break in that.
I think it’s only once you convert that monero into btc. No?
Also.
Who would only accept monero and not btc. ?

2024-12-27 04:57:48 GMT

- reply

Soo why would I use this as oppose to just sending the sats ? For privacy?
I’m trying to understand it.

2024-12-27 03:50:23 GMT

End of day post:
The thing difference between #nostr and x that’s I’ve found so far
( I’m new , so take this with a grain. Of salt)
With x , the post are presented like an aggressive grab for your attention.
Here on #nostr
It’s the content is presented like
“ do you connect with this “
Idk maybe I’m rambling but it’s just feels different here.
I notice it. And I appreciate it.
Keep going everyone.

Yea i think that’s just the growth of Bitcoin though. Ya know. It’s not necessarily a design flaw.
It’s just people tryna make money.
Better to get the btc now then later.
Once people realize what btc is those atms will close down.
What exactly would you exchange bitcoin for if not a good or service.

2024-12-24 02:51:34 GMT

You don’t use exchanges?

2024-12-24 01:29:51 GMT

Are they like connected to an exchange. Or is it like fiat atms. Where someone owns the atm and fills it with cash lol

I was never really into alts.
I did like #litecoin ( until I realized there’s no need for “digital silver” if you have “digital gold”.
I’d argue that silver was Only necessary as money because the gold WASNT digital .
But once I saw their activity on Twitter
“ I identify as a #memecoin now”
I was done.
Money doesn’t do that. lol
Ya know.
Anybody feel me.
I feel like on #nostr I’m late to the party but.
