is this similar to the pushback from the community? Concerns about thr ownership and costs of the facility versus publicly owned and managed facilities?
Sorry to be asking, it’s just something I’ve been struggling with understanding in my own research and reading. A lot of times it seems like it’s essentially just a NIMBY “I don’t want this near me” kind of thing which if just something I don’t get. I don’t see substations with this level of resistance. Transmission lines sometimes, but that’s usually more on specific routing and not “don’t build this”

oh without a doubt. I usually buy a basic white bread loaf from Hillside Bakery. It will last ~6 days before visible mold. Sometimes less, sometimes more.
If I get a loaf of anything commercial from the grocery store it lasts weeks. Even organic fancy stuff, it all seems to last forever. I wonder if they are fiddling with pH or something.

I’ve never found myself complaining my tomato plants weren’t producing enough, more the opposite of oh my gosh I have to find a bunch of stuff to make with tomatoes in it.
I’ve never heard about harvesting at the breaker stage, but reading the Penn State Extension article sounds more like something for commercial producers to worry about.

not exactly the same but I once was in a position where I blocked tor/VPNs for accessing our SSO. Ended up only impacting a single user and they understood once I told them what was up.

about 10 years ago when I was still working in education IT we had multiple older LaserJets. During my time we spent tons of money upgrading the computer labs. The LaserJets were not touched, they stayed exactly where they were. They were absolutely bulletproof and never had to be fixed. The Director of IT did not want to risk getting anything new.
I would not be shocked if they were still there today.

My employer is doing a CTF and a lot of the remaining challenges involve #reverseengineering binaries. Any suggestions on a crash course I can put myself through to try and get some of these flags? The binaries are all Linux.

the grocery stores around here seem to have the same parking log camera systems of the Lowe’s and Home Depot stores. Are there others like Albertson’s and Kroger in the mix of this too?

After a week of protest the administration of Evergreen State College made an agreement with the protesters to make a public call for a ceasefire and divestment from companies profiting off occupation of Palestinian territories.
No police. No violence. Just school administrators willing to listen and come up with ideas on what they could do.
So for every other university also remember they have also specifically chosen to use state violence on students over taking any action to support Palestinians.
