I get it. But as a parent (of grown kids) I didn't think it was the government's job to tell my kids what they could and couldn't read. I thought that was my job.
And, generally speaking, I pretty much let them read whatever they wanted. We tried to proved bookshelves full of interesting stuff.

I like this tried and true method.
You register. They ask if you're 18 (or 13). You say yes. Everything's good.
I actually think that monitoring internet usage is a parental responsibility, not a governmental responsibility.

Yeah, 2000 is really late for factory cassette. And I really need it. I have thousands of cassettes many recordings of live shows and going down the road can give me an opportunity to listen and make notes.
And I really need the CD player because you only get old music on cassettes and I can burn new music to CDs.
And I can't be dealing with my phone while driving.

2000 Buick LeSabre with factory cassette. Less than 300,000 miles on it. The best car ever made.

Yesterday my friend Stephen helped me with my car radio, a factory cassette, that now has a line in. Thanks Stephen. I can play CDs and cassettes in my car now. This morning Bible Study. This afternoon, practice and rest. This evening, United Gospel Trio, fellowship meal, and contemporary worship. A good day.

Use a wood burner. After the stink dissipates you will be able to see the keys with you fingers while you type.
This, of course, is snark.

It's playing great in spite of the heavily worn jacket.
I got a bragain - 10 cents.

Sunday. Church. Game day. Read and rest. Practice piano. Had a good gig last night at Stage Too. I read Dr. Bill Stroud's poems and played The Arkansawyer songs with his lyrics at Word Play Cafe after the show. Two of the writers know Bill Stroud.

I have been using Reverbnation for my free newsletter but it doesn't fit as well as it used to and it has a limit of 500 addresses without upgrading.
I run my own server with nginx on Ubuntu so it looks like I can install ghost.
Is this difficult or straightforward? Can I install to a subdomain?
Thanks

Yeah, pretty sure it's from the Bag's Groove album. I listened to both.
Miles said that Sonny wrote it in the studio. Started with a bunch of phrases. I just ran through it and I remember most of the melody. It was one of my first jazz vibraphone pieces.

The session featured Horace Silver on piano, Percy Heath on bass, and Kenny Clarke on drums.
Of course, also Sonny Rollins on tenor.
The chemistry between Rollins and Silver is strong. The thing about this recording is how much space Rollins leaves in his solo and how Silver manages to play the perfect chops in that space.
And then there is also this delight.

I was inspired by a post
Stuck on Rhythm Changes? Here Are 4 Coltrane Concepts That’ll Set You Free
https://www.jazzadvice.com/lessons/how-play-rhythm-changes-like-john-coltrane/
where Eric analysed Coltrane's playing on Oleo with the Miles Davis Quintet.
I started to practice some of the transcibed phrases and I came up with the double bebop scale technique where I use the chromatic runs from both the C and F bebop scales over the rhythm changes A part in Bb.
Thanks Eric.

So here's my idea.
I want to use mastodon toots as a comment thread for my blog posts.
At the bottom of the blog post I want to embed the toot and the replies.
I can pull the toot id from the embed code.
Then I want to make a database query to get all the replies to that toot.
Then I can generate the embed codes needed to show the toot and all the replies.
I'm a mysql guy, not postgres. Also a mastodon newb.
I want to know how to get the reply ids for a toot.
Any help, links, etc?
