Actor Tom Hardy has been fired from the Paramount+ crime series “Mobland,” according to multiple reports. The show boasts an all-star cast that also includes Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren and quickly became one of the streamer’s top performers. Director James Gray’s “Paper Tiger” is “a Jewish-American tragedy in a teapot that — like all of the writer/director’s best films — is both sweepingly mythic and hauntingly personal all at once,” critic David Ehrlich writes: The movie takes place in late-summer 1986 Queens: The Mets are about to win the World Series, a sure sign of the glory days ahead. 1980s indie music wasn’t supposed to grow into a bigger thing. “Indie was odd, misshapen, flawed and messy. It was never meant to be popular or endure,” Stephen Armstrong writes. And yet the Gen Xer recently found himself in a club, almost thinking he’d time traveled back to the decade of The Cure and Talking Heads when he saw the girls dancing and the boys lumbering. More votes went to "never tried it" than any other category in this poll, but aside from that, love won, with 31% of the vote. We admit to being surprised — but perhaps that's because our primary memory of Marmite is trying a thick layer on toast, believing it was some kind of chocolate spread. 🤢

Alan Ritchson plays righteous, brutal Reacher on the eponymous Amazon Prime show, but isn't ACTUALLY Reacher. Or is he? Life imitates art as Ritchson had an altercation with a fellow resident of the Nashville suburb of Brentwood. Ronnie Taylor, annoyed at Ritchson's loud motorcycle, initiated the fight. He stormed into the street as Ritchson rode by, yelling, cursing and waving his arms, causing Ritchson to fall from his motorcycle, then pushing him twice. The result? According to @nprofile…ceuw, Taylor was "absolutely whomped by the armoire-sized star of Amazon's 'Reacher.'" In 2022, Ohio police officers raided the home of rapper Afroman, best known for his 2000 hit "Because I Got High." They smashed down his door, guns drawn, and seized more than $5,000 in cash and property. No wrongdoing was uncovered, no charges were filed and the money was later returned. Afterwards, Afroman used home surveillance camera footage to make music videos and social media posts mocking the officers. Seven of them sued him for "emotional distress," but at a trial this week in Adams County, Afroman cited his First Amendment right to free speech. He also pointed out that none of this would have happened without the failed raid. "All of this is their fault, and they have the audacity to sue me," he said. Disney asked "Andor" creator Tony Gilroy not to use the word "fascism" when he was promoting its second season. Now, he's saying it — and talking about how the show's storylines connect to current U.S. politics. "So you get out your 'Fascism for Dummies' book for the 15 things you do, and we tried to include as many of them as we could in the most artful way possible," he told @nprofile…fjey. "How were we supposed to know that this clown car in Washington was going to basically use the same book that we used? So I don’t think it’s prescience so much as the sad familiarity of fascism and the karaoke menu of things that you go through to do it. You could list them from the show, or you could list them from the newspaper."

About one in 12 sheep is gay, but when rams prefer the company of other rams, they're considered a commercial failure and slaughtered. In Germany, some are lucky enough to end up in the Rainbow Wool sanctuary, a biodiverse sheep farm that prioritizes animal welfare, run by Michel Stücke and his partner Jochen. Last month, the wool from some of those sheep was showcased by LA designer Michael Schmidt in his "I Wool Survive" collection, a collaboration with Grindr and publicist Kelly Cutrone. Dazed talked to Schmidt and Cutrone about the collection. Learn more about Rainbow Wool — including how to sponsor a gay sheep — at the second link.
