Do I remember correctly that Salzer’s RUNOFF was written for CTSS on the IBM 7094?

@nprofile…kq5d 😎 Cool.
I recognized SMJ’s voice as he plugged in the console cables.
BTW, I still haven’t heard: Who got the WAITS KL-10? I think @nprofile…lp0c was able to image the boot DECtape, but where did the original end up?

@nprofile…xwug The most convenient Krispy Kreme to my house is 48 miles away, and includes a half hour ferry ride from Bainbridge Island to Seattle (the KK is only a couple of miles from the Seattle terminal).

@nprofile…22q0 As you know well, you need to replace all of the power supplies. Keith Perez’s notes on what to use and how to do it are vital.
As it happens, I had nightmares last sleep period about trying to get the WAITS KL-10 going, in some location other than the LCM+L computer room, mostly trying to remember whether it booted from the disk emulator (awake, I know it did) and worrying about the SAIL boot DECtape and 1Mbit Ethernet card.
Any idea where that system ended up?

@nprofile…v96l Point of order: Jupiter was the KC-10. The KX-10 was, IIRC, a proposed desktop model different from Bosack’s TOAD “Ten On A Desk”.

@nprofile…v96l It was purchased in running condition from Jon <mumble>, who put it together to recreate the high school system he learned to program on, which was managed by Monte Davidson of Altair BASIC fame.

@nprofile…v96l I assume that 98190 (octal 277616) is the SDF ZIP code, a long time trope in the PDP-10 universe.
An alternative, similar to the second XKL logo, would be 514355. 😁
