@nprofile…tpfq blue/green? left/right?
if this is for some kind of survey, can't you use a/b but randomise it to cancel out preference for one or the other? i'm sure there's a statistically sound way to rule out bias. (but i don't know it)

@nprofile…vltc i actually don't understand this - surely it's easier for people to work 8-4 or 10-6 instead of messing around with the very definition of time?
(and society already accepted this! most offices workers i know have some form of flexitime in their workplace, even those working in government or healthcare.)

@nprofile…htaz that's also my experience. when a go service i ran on a $5 droplet with no caching infrastructure whatsoever was the top link, i had a mild panic. but nothing happened.
it was not quite 1.5 rps - at peak it was double-digit rps, but still something even a raspberry pi can handle.
and while weird jank causing websites to fall over is probably a thing, i suspect quotas are the culprit more often than not.

@nprofile…6m2n i do a thing in bash/zsh to achieve the same effect! you can inclose the substring in *s and hit tab to finish it in both directions. more keystrokes than in fish, but it works!

does anyone know of a version control system that allows cloning subtrees as independent repos?
a similar sort of operation possible with some manual effort on git. you can do git surgery to extract a directory's history to its own repo. e.g., when open sourcing a package that's in a big closed-source repo.
but this only works one way. wouldn't be interesting to have something that works both ways? changes to the "sub repo" can make their way to the "parent repo" and they can be kept in sync.

getting speech synthesis errors from ba.com with firefox (on this admittedly probably broken installation) even though i've never enabled it or even knew that speech sysnthesis js apis existed.
genuine attempt from ba to improve accessability, or a tracking/fingerprinting library collecting more data about my browser?
