look at what Scotland has done with their ‘Hospital at home’ program to alleviate this. Health and social care are fully integrated here. An example is my elderly father in law. Once his medical condition was dealt with he was moved to a unit with occupation, physio and social care support to free up a clinical bed and get him and his home ‘discharge fit’. They had a full package in place for him within a week or so. The program is still in its infancy but it’s working

The Scot Gov has been focusing on improving the efficiency of public services, which has freed up resources for investment in other areas. Scottish Security Scotland, an integrated social & healthcare system, focus on prevention (Heath) and mitigating against poverty have hugely paid off. it has to be barely an existance. It is so upsetting. My paternal grandparents died in the Holocaust and I can’t help thinking about did they starve to death or were they murdered, just like those in Gaza. It disturbs me how the elderly and children and ill must be suffering and how parents and loved ones must be stressed beyond imagination trying to get food and medicines. My mother was Irish, my dad was German, my were grandparents Irish and Spanish, my husband is Italian, my two kids born in Norway, their spouses are Spanish and Grenadian. We all made Scotland home and can’t wait for Scotland and NI to regain independence. Five of the above immigrants are NHS Drs, one a pioneering surgeon. Good to know Starmer thinks we are worthless.
