Yes, the rising of time preference in an easy money environment is absolutely due to uncertainty surrounding the future, since people know they can't trust their money to hold value into the future. According to this, it is better to buy some craply made piece of furniture as soon as you can than to hold money.
Your point about religion is very true, religion itself is a protocol for civilisation, a set of rules to follow to ensure we all live in harmony. There is a very very good reason that the media et al want to turn us away from religion.

Exactly this - well said. Newbies come to bitcoin and imagine themselves to be a professional trader. You wouldn't be able to trade profitably in tradfi markets, what on Earth makes you think you can succeed in the volatile rollercoaster that is Bitcoin.

There are two routes you can take:
1. Try to trade, time the market, sell to buy back in lower, wait to buy a lower price, eventually after 3 years capitulate and decide DCA is the way.
