I am really worried about how these journals will be archived in a hundred years. They don't have an income stream to pay for hosting, and libraries don't have a shelf of copies bound into big volumes anymore

This is driving me nuts: @npub14vq…k7ly changed his phone number, and now Android is claiming he doesn't have an emergency phone number and I can't figure out how to tell it the phone number on his contacts page is the correct one.
I've tried changing it from mobile to main, I've tried deleting the phone number and adding it again, help please?

I have a friend who has a 2010 MacBook that won't connect to the internet without an update, and can't update without connecting to the internet
He's expressed interest in installing Linux on it just to make it usable, I have no idea how easy that is
I can get an exact model number, but if anyone is interesting with helping us either update it to a usable version of Mac OS or install Linux on it, please let me know

Waterfox is a version of Firefox with all of the AI ripped out, but otherwise up to date with all the security changes and stuff, I think it may also have some additional privacy controls added

I also turn it off because I have other things I would rather bind middleclick to, and it's not reliable anyway since it is so easy to accidentally highlight something and blow away what you had in the clipboard.
Plus it's copy and paste is maddening on Linux anyway, because you've got like four different unrelated clipboards that don't interact with one another

I got so sick of new AI features being added every update so that I'd have to go back to about:config to find the new ones that I switched to waterfox which is just Firefox without the AI features as far as I can tell and it's amazing, You can even log into your Mozilla account and have all of your extensions and tabs come over automatically

This is very odd. mpv is having a lot of problems on OpenSUSE Tumbleweed. I think I've done everything right, moved to the Pakman codec version via Zypper, following these instructions: https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Installing_codecs_from_Packman_repositories
But I'm still getting a lot of videos with audio and a black screen, and a lot of desync issues if I rewind in videos that do work.
However, VLC works fine.
Any suggestions?

No, she was doing it for her entire trip. Canadian customs rejected her for that, but she'd been doing it her entire trip in the US as well.
I forget which publication it was, but they consulted with a immigration lawyer who confirmed that doing labor for lodging is illegal on a tourist visa, and that's nothing new. the scary part about this is that she was not immediately returned to her country of origin.

That article seems to be missing some details, the big one being is that the specific complaint that both the Canadian and American authorities had was that she would be working for Americans in exchange for lodging. working for someone in your home country is allowed, just not working for Americans while you're in the states.
That said, I'm currently planning on canceling all of my conference trips to the US this summer, so that's a very reasonable thing to do

this is in my opinion, easily the best modern total annihilation spiritual sequel.
I know there's a lot of other ones like Zero-K and Balanced Annihilation, but beyond all reason is way easier to get into and doesn't overwhelm you with different unit types right at the start, though I still think it has too many compared to the original

I've been stunned, I threw Linux on my new gaming computer as a temporary solution while I figured out how to transfer my windows license from my old computer and I just haven't bothered to change, because the pain of getting games working on Linux is less than the pain of dealing with trying to get Windows to work how it did back in Windows 7
