Since I am not sure the highlighting feature is working as I expected on Primal iOS, I am mentioning this as a normal reply, too:

Why? I think that would be throwing the baby out with the bathwater. It makes sense to mark secret information as secret so even oblivious people can understand that it’s secret and they shouldn’t share it. That’s why confidential data is stamped with CONFIDENTIAL in big red letters and why PGP private keys have a special marker. I’m not sure what we would achieve with removing the nsec prefix.

Why? I think that would be throwing the baby out with the bathwater. It makes sense to mark secret information as secret so even oblivious people can understand that it’s secret and they shouldn’t share it. That’s why confidential data is stamped with CONFIDENTIAL in big red letters and why PGP private keys have a special marker. I’m not sure what your goal is with removing the nsec prefix.

A year ago, @npub1e0z…0txy mentioned in https://stacker.news/items/353878 that ACINQ is working towards liquidity ads, which would enable this functionality. https://bitcoinops.org also indicates this, see updates in https://bitcoinops.org/en/topics/liquidity-advertisements/.
So fingers crossed we will be able to use Phoenix with any LSP supporting liquidity ads once they are done 👀

Also it’s built on OpenSecrets so it’s not one or the other, they are probably working on both at the same time. Showing OpenSecrets to the world without Maple AI would be like showing bitcoin to the world without wallets.

Sorry for my bad golang code, just wanted to contribute to nip44. It passed all the tests before it was audited. After the security audit, more test vectors were added and I updated the code to fix the missing boundary checks and pass all new test vectors.
If all implementations pass the same test vectors, they should all be compatible, no?

When did you leave?
Asking because we do have filtering mechanisms; it's just not enough for some stackers but we will continue to work on it.
For example, we released "greeter mode" in Sep 2022 [0] which is off by default. This means you won't see any free items by (new) users unless you enable greeter mode.
And a week before that, we released "wild west mode" [1]. This works similar to greeter mode but acts on items that other stackers downzapped. This is also off by default. So if you want to make up your mind about stuff yourself, you can enable it and downzaps of other stackers will not have an effect on your feed.
And just a few days ago, we released muting territories [2] which works similar to muting users [3]. This means you can now filter your feed not only by muting users but by muting whole territories, too.
So maybe you didn't know all of that and you might want to give SN a try again?

Okay, I think you're referring to the "Notable Uses" section. Fair point then.
But I still don't think that this is what most DDoS attacks use. Most DDoS attacks use botnets, as mentioned by Cloudflare.
The "Countermeasures" section also mentions that LOIC isn't really effective if the company you're attacking knows that they are doing.

Because effective DDoS uses massive bandwidth that you don't just have access to as an individual or company or whatever. No one needs so much bandwidth so no one would get so much bandwidth is my educated guess.

I like this idea, it sounds similar to how zapping on Stacker News works. We also take a fee but mainly for sybil resistance to protect our ranking algorithm. We give these fees back to the best users at the end of the day.

I searched the web for a bit and didn't find any issue or PR about prediction markets in the NIP repo.

If not, I would be very happy to propose a NIP for that! I think nostr would be a great fit for prediction markets.
