@nprofile…wfat @nprofile…dmr0 Andrew if you know enough about Nix to help them improve it (or do your own video / blog post) you'd be doing a great service to the community.
I see Nix users in the Guix channel asking about how to translate "nix flake" like things to Guix all the time. Unfortunately, I've never used Nix so can't help them which is a real pity!

You might be interested to know how much it costs to run a project like GNU Guix. Well our goal is €15,000 ($17,500) a year of donations to pay for our *current expenses*.
We have all the normal expenses that a Free Software project has for our development infrastructure, hosting and that sort of thing.
There are some unique parts of being a package manager and Linux distribution that make our needs a bit more acute ...
(see pt 2)

We're fundraising for GNU Guix and looking for donations.
The project is entirely funded by our individual supporters - there's no corporate dollars here - so we need everyone's help
We're looking for donations to sustain and strengthen the project:

And, if you can help by donating:

Donations through #FSF or Guix Foundation.
Thanks to everyone who takes part!

Important email thread about #guix sustainability on guix-devel to be aware of... @npub1zae…fpj4 opens up the question of whether there's ways we can increase sustainability by sponsoring work.
Would this improve the project or demotivate volunteers? And is it even possible for a small project - I think ClojuristTogether has shown a great light-weight model. Reply on guix-devel if you're interested in this topic!
Spritely is doing important things for #guile sustainability and future.

New blog post with an introduction to the Guile REPL, and using it to query Guix packages.
Part of a new series - A side of Guile (aside on Guile?) - providing intro level material on Guile Scheme. Still 'situated' in a Guix context of course!
