Closed source frontier model labs will do their best to remove and / or regulate FOSS
I’m tied up with 3 projects at the moment but I would be open to discussing the development of an end to end, decentralized version of GitHub to help the open source community with the future of FOSS projects
… and a safe, non-regulated space to store, find, and launch models so we don’t get tied into the model monopoly currently being set up by OAI and Anthropic.

Defenseless technology is defensible by outcome-
Build defenseless, see where your competitor sees the advantage you have. Build around that advantage with defensibility in version 2.
Competition loves exposing their cards when you paint the illusion of weak defensibility. Paint the illusion of weakness in parts of your stack where the competition will attempt to replicate. Do everything you can to make them expose their hand.

Btw- if you’ve lost your gaming license, you can get a new gaming license off shore now and open an online casino like Stake. Just an fyi

People break laws (By law, corporations are people, btw), and they break laws because the fines are nothing in cost compared to the return when the laws are broken. I highly recommend you read about the banking industry, the healthcare industry, and the pharmaceutical industry. The casino industry is nothing in comparison. Widen your scope of understanding before labeling something as bs because it doesn’t align with your beliefs. The level of corruption that exists behind us is incomprehensible to you and I understand that. To clarify, I never said this was systemic. I was saying this is a story about a casino at some point which I’m not going to disclose to you, and yes they did get investigated. The result? They’re still accused of doing the same things now that the law’s enforcement is more relaxed under this admin.

The fines are minimal compared to the amount of money made from gaming odds via the software side of the hardware. Happens everywhere, obviously the surveillance inside the casino won’t have access to this because surveillance isn’t the one building the software behind the IoT systems and slot machines. Your job is to make sure a user isn’t taking advantage of an elaborately crafted system. Such has been the case for decades.

99% of modern slots at a casino are digital algorithms in sync with IoT computer vision cameras following you in the casino to monitor your payouts / wagers while in the casino setting. Each slot machine is part of a network where the payouts and winnings are calculated based on your movement, your risk appetite, and your overall on-site movement trajectory. I believe they’ll even factor in drinks and / or interactions you have socially. Most don’t know this, I do because a well known casino owner in Vegas (initials: SW) told me this when I asked about it in a private setting. Be careful when you enter a casino, it is the most predatory room you will ever step foot in. The lights / noises / etc are all well calculated as well. Godspeed

I built a prediction market exchange that uses a single merged order book for binary (Yes/No) markets instead of maintaining separate books for each side. We're also the first to fully embrace Nostr in a prediction market.
The idea comes from Hyperliquid’s HIP-4, but applied to prediction markets.
In a binary market, buying Yes at price p is economically equivalent to selling No at price (1 − p). Most prediction markets still fragment liquidity by keeping these orders separate. Our matching engine treats them as the same liquidity source.
That gives us a few interesting properties:
1. Buying Yes automatically matches resting No liquidity (and vice versa).
2. Tighter spreads without market makers quoting both sides.
3. Split, merge, and negate operations let positions be transformed without closing and reopening trades.
4. Contracts are fully collateralized and settle to 0 or 1 using external auction/event data.
The implementation ended up being much harder than expected because every operation has to preserve collateral invariants while allowing positions to be transformed between equivalent representations.
Another challenge is settlement. Rather than relying solely on manual resolution, we’re experimenting with verifiable external data sources and community verification via Nostr.
The project currently focuses on markets that don’t exist elsewhere: Formula One race outcomes, vehicle auctions, watch auctions, art auctions, etc., because those have objectively verifiable results and relatively little existing liquidity.
I’d especially appreciate feedback on:
-the merged matching logic
-collateral/accounting model
-oracle design
-edge cases I may have missed
Happy to answer any technical edge cases or questions.

2025-10-06 08:20:51 GMT

And what I mean by that is, it’s become imperative to focus on decentralized technologies more than ever now so no single person can claim ownership over something as huge as TikTok.

2025-10-06 08:10:48 GMT

I believe the Nostr protocol has risen in substantial value as a foundational piece of technology after Larry Ellison’s acquisition of TikTok.

2025-10-06 08:09:38 GMT

My mission hasn’t changed, however. After walking around Berkeley today, I’m inspired again to get going on Nostr by building a decentralized open source platform for builders completely different from what we as builders are subject to using (GitHub owned by Microsoft).

2025-10-06 08:07:58 GMT

The real reason I was gone was because I needed time off from life and I felt completely gutted by the human experience I am currently subject to involvement with against my will. Simply put, I was depressed and was laid off, I just needed some time away.

I went on a 2 month no-tagging @nprofile…gs4j sabbatical btw

2025-10-06 08:04:22 GMT

It’s extremely sad that nobody is using BitChat to the extent of which it was being used within the first week of launch @nprofile…gs4j the problem is these decentralized Nostr platforms are being released as decentralized-first instead of consumer products. If you want to change the world (again) you need to go back and see what made Twitter viral to begin with.

2025-10-06 08:02:01 GMT

The information security architecture of GitHub is completely compromised @nprofile…gs4j we need to build a new FOSS resource for builders completely decentralized from the reach of big tech I.e Microsoft.

After every centralized tech boom there is a decentralized platform revolution.

2025-09-15 18:29:34 GMT

People are starting to recognize the power of centralized ai model ownership and are beginning to think about ways to bypass it.

2025-09-10 23:03:54 GMT

I want to integrate bitchat into Buildbook. Will call it BuildChat. Instead of geohashes though, it will be university affiliation. Which our platform already verifies with the user. Users can then share project ideas, content, code, and discussions on this decentralized student network. When they meet and greet, they can then commit to building projects together on the Buildbook main feed. This is what we have so far (pic shown).
This is what the social network for technical people looks like without Microsoft’s ownership over the entire FOSS ecosystem. Early days rn. Glad to be working on it with our users.

2025-09-06 20:37:38 GMT

Decentralization of the FOSS ecosystem will not allow the compromised to influence decisions due to external factors.

2025-09-06 20:36:51 GMT

Key stake holders are extremely compromised.

2025-09-06 20:34:55 GMT

I believe we are arriving toward a very dangerous avenue. The decision to hand over the entire FOSS ecosystem to one company is upon us, and we are doing nothing about it.

2025-09-05 03:53:43 GMT

We are all motivated by common incentive structures.

2025-09-04 23:12:19 GMT

Admittedly, I don’t have a lot right now. But I am working to make sure we have the right people to work with us to free this industry from its shackles.
You cannot be afraid to ask. Do not be afraid to admit you don’t know everything.

2025-09-04 23:10:59 GMT

I don’t trust the freedom of software distribution enough to encourage young builders to build while working, or build on a platform that is centralized.
Buildbook pushes for decentralization because we understand how important it is to have an ecosystem that caters to this world in the future.

2025-09-04 23:08:33 GMT

We cannot allow a multinational corporation own the FOSS environment.
There is no security with this level of potential censorship apparatus. Builders will not be confidence in their ability to build outside organizations.
We need more founders. Visionaries. Risk takers.
I will enable that.
