the devil on my shoulder: you should bake brownies and eat that all day instead of actual food
the even worse devil on my other shoulder: actually you should make the brownie batter and eat that without baking it

this is very harsh but i was reading some funny posts the other day and then the writer started going "omg ai is so incredible i can't believe we have invented REAL NONHUMAN INTELLIGENCE why is nobody TALKING ABOUT THIS" and i felt the red Sims icon with the minus signs appearing above my head and had to stop reading because i lost all respect for their ability to reason

Environment news that was good...
Whanganui unanimously rejected seabed mining in their area!
The native cobble skink has bounced back from fewer than 100 at least 20,000!
Otago skinks have also been restored to Central Otago :)
The released Remutaka kiwi have been spotted as far as Upper Hutt! In general kiwi chicks have had huge increases to their survival rates all over Aotearoa.

Pharmac finally started funding Vyvanse for people with ADHD! Plus, we no longer need to pay thousands of dollars to renew our special authority with a psych once it's been prescribed -- our GP can just renew it for us :) They also began funding testosterone gel, which is a big news for a lot of people medically, rainbow and not! (I'm also trying to remember more positive news... I think it's good for all of us, haha.)
