No, this is done by a third party, like how the Oblivion remastered was done. Oversight is done by CDPR though so I have hopes that the story will hold up. They also know they have a high bar after Cyberpunk's release.
Their roadmap is the same, from what they publicly share. All effort is being poured into W4, while Cyberpunk (2, 2078, who knows), is probably in early development, with the majority of the team swiveling to that once W4 releases

How people have grown up and lived their entire lives in a small town. Aka proudly only being in one area of our very large world, and it shows with their views how narrow minded people can be.
< 50% of Americans have a passport. Even fewer have actually used it to travel outside of the country.
Not saying you have to take a lavish European getaway, but maybe instead of going to Disney World for the third time, go to minimum Canada or something and experience something different.

We tried to find a small EV everywhere. Bolt was sluggish and had weird controls, leat just hasn't been updated in 10 years, and so we landed on the kona. Definitely larger than we wanted, but batteries are big. At least worth a test drive I'd suggest

Thank you for calling this out. I think people assume that since it's held by private instance owners that the fediverse is secure. I've posted this comment many times, that **no**, the fediverse is quite literally by design **open and unencrypted**.
A post is literally blasted out to _anyone_ who listens, same with comments, upvotes, downvotes, everything can be saved, stored, and used for whatever anyone who listens wants. It should be completely assumed that nefarious agencies are currently listening and storing everything we do here. **This is by design**. It's the tradeoff we have of having an open platform. Anyone can spin up a server, and that means _anyone_.
DMs are similar, they're blasted out to the other server. If the server admin of the user in question wants to read them, they can. Lemmy/the fediverse is **not** a secure messaging platform. That's why the Lemmy devs literally put a Matrix handle option in the profile, to encourage people to use Matrix instead. A DM on here should be simple, to the point, and if need be, inviting them to speak on something secure.

It's very clear on signup, on the READMEs, even on the DM portal itself, that messages are unencrypted and there is no sense of privacy, and that admins have full visibility and can do what they want with them.

There is **no** promise, duty, or responsibility that an admin has beyond legal and what they themselves promise. The fediverse is great in that if you disagree with your admin, you are free to leave and choose a different one.

For me it was when I stopped going to church. I didn't go to Easter service, a very important date to our church, and it caused massive backlash. My mother stayed in bed and cried all day, cancelled all of the dinner plans we had that evening, and told family not to come visit. I eventually went and bought fast food for my brother because she refused to do anything for us that day. It took a very long time for her to get over that one.

That's great news! For all of us who do work for our family's computers, Linux is an amazing choice. I've now switched four family members over and I've never heard any complaints from any of them. Linux simply works, they mostly just use browsers, they want no fuss, no mess.

For me it was learning my family's inherent guilt that's on everything. That I don't need to feel guilty and depressed because I said no to someone. For example, if someone in my family asks them to come help them move today with no warning but I have plans that I don't need to feel guilty for months because I said no.

2 big things for me.
First is that everyone, and I mean absolutely everyone has something they want to hide. People assume "I'm not a violent person or a criminal" except yes you are, and you've done something. A great example is everyone in the US speeds, absolutely everyone. Does that mean you want every office to know every instance of you speeding if you get pulled over? So, yes everyone has something they'd rather not say.
Second is more of an example of you should be allowed to go places without everyone knowing. The example was about 5 years ago police used location data to find a person who broke into someone's home. Problem is that the location data they used returned one person who happened to be on that street around the same time. They were riding their bike down the street. To the police they had the person there, they had proof, it was good enough. Except it wasn't, and he obviously wasn't the person they were looking for. Location data put him there though, and sold him out. So maybe not the best thing for whoever to know exactly where you are at any given time.

God it's not even trans bathrooms like they're some shady thing. They obviously are fear mongering. I've had very conservative people with me go to "trans bathrooms" and didn't even notice until I pointed out that they were genderless.
You just walk in, there are sinks, and then every urinal and stall is fully enclosed and lockable. In my book they are significantly safer and MORE private than the standard American bathroom.

I think this is the best they could say though, I'm not sure what you're going for. From where I stand, it sounds great (implementation is different, but when dealing with them all we have is their word for now).
They said "If they see somebody being assaulted unlawfully or attacked unlawfully or otherwise having their legal rights violated, we do not expect state and local law enforcement officers to simply watch or do nothing."
What did you want them to say? They are expected to watch or do nothing? They can't mandate that they will, at least our AG/Gov can't, that's not really in their power to so, instead they're setting expectations in the best way they can.
And yes, public spaces. Do you want them coming into private spaces? Were they supposed to say that? That also would be a horrid thing for them to say "They'll be coming to your private spaces".

I've been an AI realist from the start. What can the models _actually_ do? What are the limitations? Ultimately, I think there is a place in the market for them - for people who understand the limitations of them and know when they're spewing BS.
I am not shocked at all that OpenAI (and Microsoft being one of it's largest shareholders) is burning cash and suddenly is realizing it may not be able to make good on it's promises. No way. Don't believe this. Worked for 5 years at a busy McDonald's. There is NO WAY an entire bag of nuggets would just be ready somewhere. We kept two trays going, each one had about 20 nuggets or so in it max. If this was lunch rush they might have 40 nuggets up at once, but then they were so busy they just dumped them all here.
If it was down time they may be a few available, like 10-20 getting old they need to get rid of anyway. Fine. That's plausible.
Even end of day you don't have a _bag_ of nuggets of waste. Of you did your supervisor would be pissed at you for mismanaging your rotation so poorly over the day.

Uh yeah, they fired the majority of everyone because of shit decisions executives made.
I could go on a whole rant about veilguard and how I truly did like pieces but how it was obvious written by a marketing committee, but I'll spare people here. It was extremely corporate. Gamers knew that, and it showed in the reviews.
Still, veilguard sold extremely well. Executives were mad that only 4 dump trucks of money showed up instead of 6, even though they were told to expect 3. so they fired everyone.

That's a good callout, I'll send something too. It has the potential for being a great spot - if it's done well. Battersea they made into a mixed-use haven, with commercial on the ground floor and upper floors being apartments, making it a place to live, to socialize, and everything could be walkable. That could be a very easy win here. We need less mega-apartment buildings and more real-life usable neighborhoods.

This could be really cool. Looking at London and what they did with Battersea Power Station this could turn an old failing building into a focal point of a new development.
