@nprofile…xa9x We really need a searchable <select>. Because every second or every?) designer now despises <select> because it's not searchable, and we have tough times when auditing each and every site containing complicated combo boxes. boxen. You got it.

@nprofile…kkfs Lifehack: use alternatives for blind people, if there are any. Usually it's either an audio or a textual CAPTCHA.

@nprofile…cx0l Oh, France! I somehow felt it even before I saw it in your profile. I had lots of small happy incidents like that here that warm my heart. Once a lady asked me to get for her a can of beer from a higher shelf in the supermarket because she is kind of tiny and I'm 186 centimeters. I'm blind, and I was with my wife, so my wife guided me a bit to find the necessary can, and the lady was super shy, like "I shouldn't have asked you, I shouldn't have bothered you" etc. And of course, I said "It's my eyes that don't work, not my arms, so I help you with my greatest pleasure!".

@nprofile…sqcg but, to be honest, you can't avoid collecting data if you provide a service, in particular a paid service. If you sell a piece of software, you need at least an email to tie the serial number to; if you provide hosting, you need user data, and so on, and so forth.

I just hate this practice: "to create your account, please download our app on your phone, then you could (probably) login from your computer".
Fuck you and your #smartphone prevalence! It's my right to use my #Windows #PC I'm comfortable with, I don't want even to install your app! Why am I obliged to enter my new account data from the fucking touch screen when I have a laptop in front of me?
Unfortunately, most of the people forgot that a smartphone is a mobile device when no normal PC with normal hardware, normal keyboard, normal screen size (for the sighted) and normal sound is around. I know, I know, many people have no computer at all these days, and it saddens me very much because this is one of the reasons why number of people who really love producing and consuming text falls so drastically.

@nprofile…8x0h Hey, André here. I used to test accessibility functionality with Otto once. First of all, thank you again for caring about accessibility, it's not very frequent in the open-source community, unfortunately. Yes, URLs are extremely important at least for some of us (like me), and here GitHub keeps doing great job. However, I didn't really understand your concern, what was before and what are you planning to introduce? Thank you. Also, you always know where to find me, please write here or to ap (at) oire.me. I'm willing to help.

#NextCloud #accessibility is highly impacted by this thing that seems very small. What they did is they removed (!) the Copy Public Link from the context menu in their File Explorer integration. I don't know who to call, but I'm pretty sure we need to create more noise in there. I'm thinking about starting a petition. Dear #PHP community! Could someone with power please raise an RFC to make the `strict` parameter of the `in_array()` built-in function `true` by default? It's really annoying to remember putting `true` as the third parameter every time, and not doing it might potentially lead to weird bugs. Thanks!

As now everyone seems to be mad with that "degoogling" thing, I'll reiterate my point: I won't stop using services that are accessible and usable for me as a blind screen reader user. Period, full stop. You can be a thousand times open-source, have good intentions and be saint angels in flesh, but if your service is not accessible *and* usable by a blind user, I cannot perform my daily tasks, be it for work, hobby or leisure, hence I won't use your service. Make your services accessible and usable for everyone and then preach about degoogling, de-appling, de-microsofting and de-whatevering. #Angry #Blind #Accessibility
