My system is to write out date, pen, nib, ink with the pen and ink in question as I fill them, and I try to strike them out as they get empty or cleaned out but I'm only half successful at that part, so a clean ink log with what's actually filled is a good start of the year. I do tend to have a lot of pens inked at the same time, so the log is necessary, or I won't remember.
