I had to be no more than 15 - 20 ft. from the Marshall stacks and my ears were ringing for a few days after the show. I've got a lot more photos of her but I sorta like this one in spite of the slight blur.

It's funny with this photo - he saw me raising my camera and thought I just wanted to take a pic of his dog (he tried to get out of the way); couldn't imagine anyone would want to take his picture. So I wanted to get it right.

exactly. Although I did have a nice chat with an older fellow who worked for Tom Parker back in the 60s (he handled food services if you can imagine). Was listening to his stories before the loud ads came on the screen.

I thoroughly enjoyed it. There were only 7 of us in the theater since it was a 9 am showing at a multiplex in the burbs. It felt like a private screening.

Funny, that's the second time I've heard Todd mentioned today. I'm reading Glyn Johns' book Music Man where he describes the production of The Band's Stage Fright album which both he and Todd mixed. Not sure but I think Grossman and Rundgren may have been neighbors in Woodstock, NY.

Watched Huston's "The Misfits" last night. Incredible cast, of course, and Arthur Miller's screenplay was one of the greatest; full of wisdom delivered by Marilyn.
Roslyn (MM's character): "We're all dying aren't we? We aren't teaching each other what we really know, are we?"
It was Clark Gable's final film as well as Marilyn's.

I still play the LPs but not the 45s.
There are plenty of turntable options these days. I don’t know about the sound quality but there’s a retro styled Victrola that plays LPs and CDs.

This doc was released over a year ago but in case you haven't seen it, it's really good (if you can handle the few minutes Roger Waters is on screen). All that pre-Photoshop work was impressive - burning stunt men, a flying pig, painted kids, etc.

If you need to get your mind off of current events, I highly recommend Al Pacino's new book - "Sonny Boy : A Memoir". The audio book is read by Pacino in a conversational way, so it feels like you're sitting down, having a cup of coffee, and listening to Al tell you his life story. And what a story it is.
I especially love what he writes about Scarface - who got it and who didn't.
And his description of Diane Keaton - what an incredible woman.

the last time I went to this place my approach was to just take it all in. Put my camera in my backpack, my phone in my pocket, and of course I missed what would have been a beautiful photo of a group of deer crossing my path. Oh well, the photos are in my head.

Almost finished with “Me, the Mob, and the Music” by Tommy James. When he says “mob” he means it. The notorious Morris Levy (Roulette Records) was connected to the Genovese crime family. James was a hit machine but got screwed out of 40m.
One interesting tidbit is that Levy was a fan of Latin Jazz and one of his other Roulette artists, Tito Puente, performed “Crystal Blue Persuasion”.

Robert is a country musician / songwriter with all the creds - grew up in West Virginia, a coal miner's son, and worked in Nashville.

This is so difficult to take.
As a young teen I was lucky enough to witness his dazzling play in the Orange Bowl. But he was also my coach at QB Bob Griese's football camp in S. Fla.. One memory that stands out - he raced all of the kids on our team in a 50 yard dash - he backpedaled the whole way and still beat us by a lot.
He was his old mercurial self in the recent interviews I saw so I'm glad for that.

this is great, reminds me of Walker Evans’ work.
Also, fwiw, I’ve been wearing progressives for about 20 years. Some designs have been better than others. I couldn’t wear Varilux at all. The less expensive Costco lenses are 👌🏼though. I’m not sure who makes them but Ive never had a problem with those.
