Stormlight is such a good series! I just finished my re-listen of Rhythm of War. So good. Brandon is awesome. Have you read The Emperor’s Soul? It’s a great one too. It’s shorter. He won the Hugo for that one.

Make today a great day…
or discover the greatness that’s already there. The sun came up, and that’s pretty great! 🌅
There’s life, and we get to be a part of it!

Posting about procrastination when I should be doing other things (like writing). 🤨 Hopefully this helps those like me who procrastinate a little too much.

Haven’t finished Andor yet. Heard the pacing is slow through the season. Hopefully worth it. So many good things to watch, read, and listen to, it’s hard to keep up!

Mandolorian went the way of a grizzled/broken "old" loner and paired him with a young (okay not so young) kid to care for. Mando can't be the lonely loner anymore. The contrast makes it fun.
The Book of Boba Fett however has two leads that are pretty much the same (both bounty hunters, few words, serious, etc.), and I think that's why Mando on the whole is much more enjoyable to watch.
Neither show is perfect, but it is nice to get #starwars content so can't complain!
Side note: Saw Baby Yoda with Mando at Disneyland, and it made for a pretty awesome day.

Overthinking what to post in a note is a difficult thing to overcome.
You can always delete the note.
…oh, no delete.
We’ll you can edit at least.
…oh, no edit.
No wonder I have anxiety about posting. 😅
Actually, I love nostr for all this. Exciting to be part of a growing protocol. Love to see the user base expand.

No need to charge a physical book, just pick it up, and it works each time. Put a book on the shelf or nightstand, and seeing it passing can bring back fond memories of the story. The only problem with physical books is that when they are loaded in boxes for moving, they feel heavier than a cast iron anvil.

Lots of good shows out there. Some I’ve come back and watched parts of or all more than once:
Crash Landing on You
(Korean rom-com, gotta get passed the first episode and then it really takes off)
Avatar The Last Airbender (animated)
First season of The Good Place

Kickstarter can be a fun way to create excitement around a book launch. A number of authors I know have had great success with it. Best of luck with your writing!

Indie publishing is great for speed and control. Either way, the marketing for a new author is going to be largely up to the author. If Kickstarter is your jam, many have used it to help with the upfront costs of indie publishing.

For some reason the post showed the link but not the rich snippet (at least on my client). Can’t let that happen, not for a show as epic as “Crash Landing on You”
Here’s another try:

That’s it, people, we’ve got to branch out a little. 🙃

We played "The Planets" by Gustav Holst for the kids the other day (more on that in a second).
Just give the movement "Mars, the Bringer of War" a listen and it may remind you of a certain movie that begins with two spaceships at war advancing towards a reddish planet below.
#starwars
The movement "Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity" is our favorite. Where did we find a love for the music?
It was on the kids show Bluey.
(I love watching it too)

Thanks! Congrats to you as well. Enjoy the every minute of it. It seems the only thing faster than the speed of light is how fast your kids grow up.

The mental gymnastics I go through to divide 150 in half.
Split 150 into two parts, 100 and 50
First Part
100 / 2 = 50
Second Part
50 / 2 = 25
50 + 25 = 75
The human calculator. Just not an effective one, but I am at least 100% correct 80% of the time. Every time.

Tonight, I was telling our young twins a story that involved wizards, dragons, and a red, red wagon.
One of the twins asked, "What's a wagon?"
I thought, "I'm a failure as a father."
I described a red wagon to them.
Then it hit me. We used to have a red wagon and I would pull them around the block in that big heavy thing (it did not have a very good turning radius). We even took them trick or treating in it one year—maybe a couple years even.
I wasn't a failure as a father, we're just a family that's memory challenged from not sleeping. Ever. #twins

“Where are my Tic-Tacs? Ugh!”
Best line from the movie “You’ve Got Mail”
Don’t know why that’s in my head right now. Maybe my subconscious is telling me to be more thoughtful and a better listen—
—Hey wait, where are *my* Tic-Tacs?

“Hope” is the thing with feathers -
That perches in the soul -
And sings the tune without the words -
And never stops - at all -
And sweetest - in the Gale - is heard -
And sore must be the storm -
That could abash the little Bird
That kept so many warm -
I’ve heard it in the chillest land -
And on the strangest Sea -
Yet - never - in Extremity,
It asked a crumb - of me.
—Emily Dickinson
c. 1861

First post! How about some favorite poetry:
Tell all the truth but tell it slant —
Success in Circuit lies
Too bright for our infirm Delight
The Truth's superb surprise
As Lightning to the Children eased
With explanation kind
The Truth must dazzle gradually
Or every man be blind —
—Emily Dickinson
