And I'm also aware that the people involved are *people*. There are no large corporations or institutions involved. It's a small community. So naming and shaming would involve shaming individuals, not companies, and I don't want to do that.

I don't *think* I've omitted anything relevant, though of course I may have. There's no question that I was sarcastic and possibly a bit derisive at the speaker's answer. But I believe that's the only part of the complaint that holds water.
I have lots of reasons not to give specific details. A major one is that I hope the community can talk about this and make some decisions about what kind of community we want to be. I don't think external pressure will contribute to that.

Hey, Mastodon! I need some help ... I want to collect the phrase "Hello, World!" in as many different natural languages as possible (i.e. things like Swahili, French, Hindi, etc. - not programming languages!)
If you speak languages other than English or Welsh and you're willing to give me a translation, I'll be extremely grateful. (Ideally you'll be a fluent speaker of any language(s) you contribute - it's important for my project that the examples are correct and idiomatic.)
