My Rheumatologist gave me a prescription for a course of prednisone to help me make it through this flare up until I can see him in a few weeks.
My body: “Where is my biologic?! What is this… a treatment for ants?!!”
LOL. Seriously, my body is not impressed after having to stop my biologic. 😂 Goes to show how incredibly effective biologics can be for inflammatory arthritis… I am counting the days until my next treatment option… *fingers crossed*

I picked up takeout today for lunch and the person packing our food looked at me SO genuinely and said, “wow, you have such a beautiful smile. The energy just lifts me up.”
I’d be lying if I didn’t admit that I’ve been fortunate to hear that throughout my life… but today hit different - in the best way.
I’m doing so much better… I can get outside again, I can stand for longer periods because my POTS is improving.
She’ll never know how much that meant to me today. To feel *seen* again.

It’s been a month and I am absolutely delighted to share that my biologic for Rheumatoid Arthritis is WORKING!!! 3rd med is the charm, I suppose.
I have zero side effects.
I have a 80% reduction in pain.
My brain fog has mostly lifted.
My energy levels are increased.
My fatigue is much less.
I’m still waiting for the other shoe to drop because of previous med issues but right now I’m so so grateful. ☀️YAY! A win! 🎉

The trauma I experienced trying to navigate life as an undiagnosed #autistic with #ADHD still haunts me to this day… and I’m pushing 40.
School was hell for me; it was a game of survival… exhausting, and I developed a sense of anxiety and self-loathing. I’m trying to reclaim that now that I’m diagnosed and know my support needs. 💜 It’s never perfect, but I’m trying.

My new med for RA finally arrived by delivery courier. This is after 6 weeks of talking to the drug manufacturer, 2 speciality pharmacists, doing paperwork, intake phone calls, and finally scheduling a delivery.
The med is covered under a provincial ‘compassionate care’ program because it costs $6,200 USD / month out of pocket.
I share because it’s important to know what we go through. We don’t choose to be sick. We don’t want this. We just want to be well. 💜
