I remember, way back when, the daemon used to scream when we used it to summon the internet. It's all safely hidden behind wires and shiny boxes, now. But the daemon is still there, screaming so high-pitched we can't even hear it anymore.

The Chinese ones are especially notorious for overestimating range. I have an Atto 3 premium and it merrily shows me 480km of range every time I charge it. I might get close to that driving carefully around town, but I live in rural Tasmania, so I'm mostly driving highways. I can get maybe 350km on a nice, summers day. More like 300km, which is enough to drive me down to Hobart from Deloraine, so no complaints.

Cruel Provocations is set in a Steampunk southern France, and bits of French appear in that, along with English translations of specifically French phrases.
Somebody Keeps Callin' has our heroine encountering Polish criminals who speak their own language a bit.
Desolation: The Overdue Library is SciFi, but has some invented phrases specific to the planet and circumstances.
