Oh, and make sure automatic sign-in is disabled for nostr.com in your browser extension first, so it doesn’t overwrite stuff automatically!

You can probably get any lost sats back by going to nostr.com again in the same browser, and looking in local storage in devtools for an entry called `wallet_info`.
there’s an entry `wallet_url` which will log you into the lnbits wallet they generated for you.
(*DON’T* clear the browser cache, log in to nostr.com again, or accept/decline any signing requests, or it the site might overwrite the cached wallet with a new one)

It'll take you longer than that unless you get very lucky.
remember each additional character multiplies the work by 32x, so if your computer can do 5 characters in 1 minute on average, 6 should take 32 mins, 7 -> 16 hours, and 8 characters would take almost three weeks!

the best time to switch was in ’22, but the second best time is now 😛
personally I wouldn’t bother unless you need to change keys already. I think clients will move away from displaying raw npubs in the long term, so vanity keys will lose their appeal, and anti-spam PoW should probably happen separately from your identity anyway.
